In case nobody has found it yet...Windsor Castle Park is a cool place to take pictures.
Unfortunately I was in my wife's car when I found it.

Joslin, that's awesome! Congrats to you both on the article! That's really cool.

Photowhoring... I haven't done that in a long time. I'll have to look up this Windsor Castle Park and get Josh to take the FRS there. I miss having a photo-worthy car. Ugh!

I officially threw in the towel on the MR2. I just don't have the time to put into it anymore, so it's off to DIA to finish the motor install. I've learned a ton through this process, mostly that it pays to delegate your tasks to the pros at times. I'm burnt out on doing the work on cars, just want to enjoy them from here out.

I wish mine was a MKI.... My MkIII is more of a PITA than it's worth.

I've heard that.... Mine is MkII. Spun a bearing and removed/ tore down the motor. Had the shop rebuild the block. I got the motor back 2 weeks ago and just didn't feel like doing the rest but did anyways. My unwant turned into really don't want, so I'm not. LOL.

I'd love a Mk1 for autocross. Strip it down and make it a go-kart. Win!

Is yours the stock 1zz or hav eyou upgraded?

It's a 1zz with a spun bearing. I've been trying to pick a motor to replace it for a while now. 2ZZ doesn't seem worth it, and one of the 6 cyl swaps seems so cramped you'd have to drop the motor to change the spark plugs.
A used 1ZZ is like $1,200. I'm not trying to spend that much on a motor with 40-80k.

Ah, ok. The 2zz is a great motor, but not worth it IMHO, but then again, I'm no fan of high-revving VTAK, yo, motors. To each their own. I can't imagine trying to work on a v-6 in that car, it's hard enough working on the 3S. I don't know the spyders well, but I'd imagine there are 3s trades out there too, right? Maybe it's an outdated motor, but I love them.

I bet it'll fit, and could be wired to work. How much are they? That's the biggest thing for me - I already have a $$project car$$.

I agree with your thoughts on the 2zz. The 6 speed that comes with the Celica GTS is a nice transmission, if I could do a full swap for the cheap I'd do it. But a lot of people prefer the 1zz in the MR-S because it has that lower end power.

I've looked into just about every sideways motor I could think of but haven't pulled the trigger on anything.

I think those are $texas compared to the 1zz.

I'll look into that though.

I thought the s2000's motor faced forward??

A 3S can run you anywhere from 1500 to 4k, depending on which revision you get and where you get it, not to mention cut/ uncut harness, etc. I don't trust shady companies, but there's one with a good reputation out of Richmond I believe that goes for around $2500. I would expect to pay that. Of course that's with tranny. The LSD tranny will cost you more than non-LSD, obviously. As to which is better is a very highly debated matter of opinion. I have a 2nd gen JDM motor with non-LSD tranny. The PO put the motor in, so not sure what he paid for it.

Honda in a Toyota... weird. I once saw a 3sgte in a Civic. I lol'd. FWD FTL!

Spin, I just noticed your car list... You've got my old WRX's twin. Jelly! I miss that car. Would be even funnier if it happened to really be my old one. How long have you owned it?

Ah, ok. I keep secretly hoping I'll run across my old one. It roams around town from time to time.

Is the mazdaspeed motor transverse ? That'd be a sweet swap.
