Hey everyone, finally found a good thread to make an introduction. Have had a 2011 WRX Sedan (SWP) for about a year and a half now, but somehow never got on this forum much till lately...
Anyways, been to a couple meets and met some of you (although I'm terrible with names and probably couldn't remember any of them, lol). See you all around town!

Okay, so I know that this question has been asked a million times, but is there still a hookup out there for swapping tires? My rcomp tires just came in and I need to swap off the tires on my winter set-which are off of the car already-and get the new tires on in the next two weeks. Thanks in advance.

Old lumber mill sounds like a cool background for a race.... I'm sure it is a far cry from Pungo, though. Lol :-)
Hmm , haven't heard of those. They are conti's so I am sure they are good. The lumber mill is a new venue out here but it is a pretty big area, just about as big as vmp if not bigger.

I tried looking them up, couldn't find info on them but they do look good. Is the compound of the tire soft enough to heat up quickly? I would assume they would be like my R1's, a bit harder for longevity on the track.

Yeah continental series runs three different compounds for full slick. And I believe it's two for the rain tire. I would love to have a set of those race/rain tires. Never thought about asking if he ever gets those. The med compound from what I've read is close to the r6 Hoosier but the temp window was way wider. They get warmer easier and maintain good grip up to some hi temps. My Pirellis don't have a window that big but they are way better then the Hoosiers. I'm way happy with my choice this year

Brendan you went with some Pirelli's this year? My R1's are still alive and prob will get me through this season, hopefully. I had to get some new street tires, I absolutely killed these ones. I ended up doing way to many autocrosses on them last year.

15lbs lighter is quite a big difference. What size did you go with?

Pirelli dh full slick. 245-185-18. Pirelli has there own measuring system. So it's close to a 245-40.

Full slick huh, different class now? You shouldn't need to worry about clearance with a 245. Is that through the same hook up as before?

Same hook up. Same class... No difference between a Hoosier slick and a Pirelli slick in the eyes of scca.
