Default NoVA WRXs with aftermarket exhaust

Anybody in the northern VA area with an aftermarket exhaust on a 2015+ WRX? I want to hear one in person. Either these new WRXs sound like crap or videos online aren't doing them justice. I miss the EJ rumble.

I've got aftermarket exhaust... ark grip with an app tuned front pipe. No rumble, but much better than stock

About how much louder than stock? I'm looking for a slightly more aggressive sound without attracting a bunch of negative attention.

Luckily, it's really only loud when you want it to be. It can be somewhat musical at times. At idle, barely louder than stock though.

Q300 is what I was considering. Good to know.

You're not going to hear the rumble. The rumble you hear from the EJ is a result of the Boxer motor coupled with unequal length (UEL) headers.

Here's a good explanation:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SUiyNud1FX0

You'll hear the motor's Boxer character, but all you'll hear is pure efficiency

I completely understand the characteristics of the two different motors. I'm not chasing the EJ rumble, I know I'll never get that. Just want something a little better sounding than stock. I'm loving the MPGs with this new motor though!

The q300 is an amazing exhaust. No drone and loud when you want it to be. I personally have a 16 wrx with a Invidia catless J-Pipe and Nameless muffler deletes, and its pretty loud . But if you want something to sound nice and no be to obnoxious at the same time i would personally recommend the Invidia Q300 or Perrin (more of a rumble).

Do you drive a DGM WRX? I may have seen you sometime noon yesterday. Car sounded loud but good. I was wondering whether you took out the UEL header, didn't know they changed it with recent WRXs.

I drive a DGM WRX but no exhaust yet. Not sure who you were referring to.

We've got a Cobb cat-back on our shop 2015 WRX. Come by most any day to hear it.
