Default Exhaust question!

I'm wanting to buy the invidia n1 race exhaust with invidia catless dp. I was wondering how loud they are. I know they're loud, but how loud? Do they get annoying after a few months of having it installed? Any complaints from neighbors? Opinions?

Youtube!!!!!! YouTube. YouTube. YouTube. This is opinionated. I could say it's louder than a NASA space shuttle. And Joe Schmoe could say that it's quieter than a fly's fart.

Find someone with the setup you're looking for and watch the videos and decide for yourself. Or in real life, go for a ride. I personally think that it's the average noise that you hear from every aftermarket exhaust on a Subie. So if that's what you're looking for, you found it.

I'll follow that up with Search, Search, Search!!!

You aren't the first person ever to try this set up.

Someone correct me if I am mistaken, but isn't the N1 race one of the loudest systems you can buy, just short of straight pipe? It isn't called the race version for nothing.

YouTube doesn't do it for me. I heard two different exhausts in person compared to YouTube and in real life they were way to loud for me, whereas on line they sounded great. YouTube really does not pick up the decibel level, nor the drone--of any.

Here's a better idea. Go exhaust less. Remove everything from your turbo back, then you won't have to worry about how loud your exhaust is. So YouTube doesn't do it for you cause you say it sounds different than in person, but you're gonna get advice from a bunch of random people who you don't know that have different preferences than you. All I'm saying is that you'll get 100 different answers. Personally, I say you can never go wrong with Perrin or Cobb. They're a little more mellow than most, but nice rumble and good quality.

Just buy it and put it on. If you don't like it, then obviously it's too loud. Sell it and buy another one.

Common sense question, did you even try putting foot work in to SEARCH on this subject?

Catless + Invidia race is probably one of the loudest exhaust setups you can get.

I've heard the N1 race in person... it's DUMB loud lmao. The loudness my exhaust makes near red line = how loud the N1 is when the owner blipped the throttle to get moving.

I have a Cobb CatBack Exhaust... which is around SPT sound levels. It's throaty... but not that loud. Just putting it in perspective. Another way I'd rate it is :

0 = Stock
5 = My Exhaust
10 = Straight Pipe

N1 Race is a 9 or 9.5 to me.

I remembering wanting a loud exhaust because of the small attention whore in me but I realized I don't like unwanted attention. I have the cobb exhaust and it's a happy medium for me.

Hey you ended up going with the Cobb for your hatch. Glad to hear it, how you liking it so far? I had mine off for the salty winter and just put it back on, couldn't be happier with that rumble.

Ahhhhh. I ran my Factory Five Cobra for a short time with open headers. You could run that N1 Race at 6500 rpm and you wouldn't even hear it over the cammed 302. The turbo quiets it right down. That's why SRT4's have no muffler whatsoever.

I have a CNT catless downpiipe with the invidia n1 race catback.
It is much louder compared to stock, but I would compare it even close to being straight piped. I some times swap out my axle back with a straight pipe and thus making my car straight piped from the turbo back.

When I have it straight piped I get yelled at by pretty much everyone and everything.
When I have the N1 axle back on there, I get no complaints at all.

03 wrx wagon. 3" turbo back, no cats, one muffler. It's offensive
