The front end looks very ford focus/fusion-ish which is a rip-off of aston's in the first place. It doesn't seem to be anything of a rally car any more but rather just a bland 'aggressive' looking tuner car. but if the spec's are good enough we'll all buy one haha.

Looks like a more aggressive version of the normal 2012-2013 impreza to me. After all the hype I was expecting more out of the redesign.

I agree the front end looks similar to other vehicles on the road, noteably the Ford Fusion (see below), but imitation is frequent in car design, so what?

I'm not a fan of the current WRX sedan and think this is an improvement. I like it and would drive it.
I do wonder if it's seemingly high hood and doors will be a visibility problem especially for the (few) people who'll race them. Hard to see an apex or cone over all that sheetmetal.

Looks expensive with those giant shiny wheels huge breaks and carbon roof.
Maybe in sti trim, but I can't see the wrx getting these goodies.
Now do I mod my 09 past stage2 or save momey and wait to see what the specs are for this guy???

Just took this pictures at the New York outo show. It doesn't look like a rally car any more and it has huge brakes and wheels.

I do like it. I am wondering watch a hatch model would look like. I am excited for the changes. I'm ready to upgrade and jump into a '15. Ill never buy the first year of a change.

I like it, its aggressive, smooth and modern. But I wouldn't buy it becuase it has gone too far away from its roots. This is a WRX street machine, I miss the awkward, tall, rally ready look. Thats also why I avoided the existing series though.

That's an old picture, actually. It's just the test mule for the engine/drivetrain.

thats sorta what I was thinking, it has the same lines from the 2013, the front and rear are the only thing different so I am thinking this is car and drivers way of sparking more interest.

Me too but they don't look DOT legal so they probably won't be on the production model.
Those rear view mirrors will certainly be changed too.

I think they are calling it a 2015...
It makes me real happy I bit the bullet and got a 2013. If it goes in this direction I think it will be priced out of my range..
I do like the line yellow/green wrx badge.. the tail pipes and rear tail lights are pretty fugly though.
Mostly, it looks more like an Evo replacement than a WRX replacement.

I'm not a fan for two reasons:

1) There is nothing unique about its aesthetics. Previous iterations of the Impreza line clearly defined it as something separate from its competitors. But this car looks interchangeable with a Ford, Dodge, Scion, BMW, etc... just with a different badge. It's also just a tad too aggressive looking for my taste.

2) I'm no expert but this doesn't look very "rally." Rather, based on the body style and road clearance it looks like it will shred itself or worse if it interacts with dirt. If this is for tarmac only it would be a shame. It shouldn't be called a (W)orld (R)ally (X) if it can't handle a little rock or snow at speed.

Don't get me wrong. It's a good looking car and it will probably crank out some impressive numbers. But it just doesn't look like it fits with the other evolution of the WRX line. Personally, if I wanted a Subaru that could only handle street duty I'd buy a BRZ anyway...

I love it. I looks really aggressive, and it's a pleasing shape. Yeah, yeah, it looks like some other cars, but what doesn't look like something else these days? On its own, it looks good, and that's something I don't remember saying about a new WRX before.
