Here we go again.... People are gonna whine and cry about it, blah, blah, blah... It looks like this or it looks like that... More blah, blah, blah... Then when the final product comes out in STi Form all the whiners are gonna be like: "You have to see the car in person to really appreciate how good it looks"...

I've been through this whining before and what do people drive in this forum? Exactly, the same cars the were whining about before...

snub nosed
kind of disappointed.

scion tc + BRZ = this concept WRX

very un original in my opinion.
toyota needs to back the f*** out of the production ideas in Fuji industries.

my first love of subaru was the Bug Eye.
ive seen them all change for the better qualities, bigger motors, better efficiency, wider bodies etc. etc.
this ones just weird

Sick! Quite a departure, but I can't agree with the looks of the last gen... So I think it's great. Very contemporary.

They don't sell them here anymore... Turbo outbacks, that is.

2.5 or 3.6 is the choice...

I like it and think its gonna look good. Whats gonna KILL this car is that Subaru will mark up the price and I wouldnt be surprised to see a base price of 28K

The wrx version was meant to be an affordable sporty car. Ford did the same with the Mustang GT. Those were ment to be affordable pony cars. Just a shame......wtg Subaru, wtg

I don't see how anyone could like this, it completely gets away from what Subaru is. Just picture this thing on a rally stage it would look so out of place. It doesn't retain that simple, tough, clean look that we have all grown to love. The newest generation nearly went over that edge of trying too hard and adding too much, but this one is completely over the top. I want to drive a SUBARU, not a Scion TC beefed up on steroids and HGH.

I think you guys who don't like it are taking the concept lines too seriously

I'm more concerned about how it drives honestly..if it takes some of the BRZ's dna it will be great

I doubt the price will be super high, the WRX price has barely gone up since 2002

Agreed, it actually loooks like the base price would be pushing 30+. Like someone said, it reminds me of an audi too.
But then again, i guess looks cant soley define price. Theres some new KIAs out there that look halfway descent, and you can get those for 100bucks a month. lol

I LOVE IT!! Which sucks because I was planning on getting a BMW 5 series as my next car while keeping the STI as a weekend warrior. Now it looks like I might end up with two STI's... Dang I also like the looks of the MB CLA 45 AMG

I certainly would not expect the WRX to have a carbon roof, 20" wheels and a BBK w/ floating rotors. That sounds like typical concept car stuff. 300hp in the WRX and 350hp in the STI (via a larger turbo, maybe 20g in size) would be frikkin sweet!

yeah hopefully they give the STI an appropriate power boost this time

or just give them both the same power trains and make the sti a interior/handling/braking/tire upgrade

If they do that, then the STi better not have a 5-10k price hike!

I'm LOVING the design!!! Hopefully they'll come out w/ a hatch as well, but I could live with the 4 door if I HAD too.

I think its too performance focused and losing its usability.. aka the wife would never approve since it wont hold 2 kids 2 adults and groceries for 4... or stuff for a trip.. or a bike rack.

I dont like the electric yellow - I always liked the red calipers with WRB or DGM cars.

I have a feeling its going to look a lot different in production since the uniqueness usually gets toned down from concept cars.

It doesnt look outdoor sporty to me.. I dont see that car with a bike rack and 2 downhill bikes on it.. The WRX lost its roots.

I dont see rally car.. I see road car.. imagine mud flaps on that thing?
LOLWUT!?!

Crazy.

And where were you gonna put the bike rack or 4 people in the original GC models?

Spoken like someone who is only familiar with versions of the WRX from the last 2 years.

Some will like it, other will hate it. So long as I can fit a full set of tires and wheels in it with the rear seats down (which I have currently in my 2012 sedan right now) I like the changes.

Only thing I will be jealous of though compared to my 2012...it probably doesn't have a plastic interior.
The WRX has always been focused on performance. It was never an outback.

My only problem is that I can't see it getting dirty. If it were the STI I would understand, but the WRX needs a bit more practicality in my book.

This may be true, but it's always been practical in other areas. You could take a WRX off-road. And if you have the wagon, you could take it camping or what have you. This new car is clearly only deigned to be a pavement queen. The rugged side of the WRX dies with this new model. Also, let's not forget that the Outback was an IMPREZA Outback before it was just an Outback. This is NOT an Impreza anymore.

nothing japanese is ever released with wheel gap like that

this thing is going to be watered down for production as with all concepts. The current wrx really doesn't have any offroad abilities beyond any other subaru.

Im sure it will be watered down but that first pic wasnt the brz concept, it's the ft86 concept. As far as I know they really only made a brz sti concept. The current brz's body design is almost identical to the concept verzion. Some major things the brz didn't get that the concept had were brembos, nice wheels, suspension, and the carbon fiber roof. But again the concept was of the sti model so it shouldn't have been expected for the plain brz model.
