Post Richard A., Did you end up getting fastest time at the VMSC AutoX today?

It was definitely Subaru weather there today. I was soaked and cold and left after the second heat but your runs were pretty fun to watch especially the second one with the huge slides. You were really moving. Well it was nice to meet you and NTRVRTD at both AutoXs this weekend. You both have nice Imprezas and you both did very well. NTRVRTD it's too bad they didn't let you take another run... I think Richard would have been in trouble...
I had never been to an AutoX before and had a great time at both.
It's a shame I didn't get to meet the owner of the white RS with the MD plates that was there today. I never saw you near your car.

I'll try and make it out to the next one too.

It was also nice meeting the other WRX owner there if you lurk on this forum... sadly I've forgetten your name already (I have a problem remembering names the first time around)

I think I ended up with 2nd fastest time of day but won't know for a day or two. The A/M car that got two sorta dry runs in the first heat before it started raining again had a 45.? run, I think. My fastest comp run was a 46.8 in the second heat and in my last heat fun runs I got a 46.1. Many people came over to check the car out and left shaking their heads.

Ixnay,

I'm the guy with the white coupe and MD tags. I saw two WRX's there Sunday and wanted to talk to at least one of the owners. While I love Subarus and talking about them, those that know me will tell you that I am the very LAST guy to watch drive an autocross. Mike and Richard are both great drivers. You ought to watch and learn from them and, of course Eric K. and Lee Reodica. They are both amazing as well. What you really need to do is ENTER an event and drive your car like you stole it. There is nothing like it I hope to meet you at an event in the near future.

Dan,
I will admit, after watching 2 of them I am getting real tempted to maybe enter the next one.... hmmmmm... The only things stopping me are probably my pride (because I am sure I will be horrible at it for awhile) and that I can see how it can be a downward spiral of money spending...

Brian,

You know, even first timers often turn in better times than I do, really! Ask Mike - he did that a couple weeks ago. Of course, this doesn't mean your pride won't be wounded by being second to last. As for the money, you don't really need to spend anything other than the entrance fee and maybe get a helmet. The most important modification to any car is a better driver. After you do a few of these things, you'll be surprised at how much faster your car seems. Try it, you'll never give it up . . .

I appreciate the comments on my driving skills or some would say lack thereof. But I am still learning. The event last sunday was only my 4th event and the 2nd of which I decided to try and make adjumstments as I go. I was unaware of the final results from sunday. I checked the website earlier trday and the results were not up yet. I am not able to yet but maybe someday I can give Richard a run for his money.

OK, results are up at http://www.vmsc.org
I won STS by a nice margin had 3rd fastest time of day to two cars running in the sorta dry first heat and took the PAX by 1.8 seconds! The DMS 50's rock and the Pole Positions Kick A** in the rain. Next event at VMP is 4/29. Registration opens on the internet on 4/20. I'll probably be running next in Harrisburg Pa. on 4/22.

Any one up for a Subaru day at VMP on Friday 4/13, Good Friday. Check out my "Subaru Day at VMP?" post going up soon.
