Default Rear Bumper Scuffs (Plastic Portion) Fix Advice

So yesterday I was backing into a parking spot and did not notice that the curb was higher than normal. Curb scuffed the bottom part of my bumper, but just the black plastic portion on the bottom (impreza sport). Its not major, but it really bothers me now that my car isn't in "perfect" condition anymore.

Anyone have any ideas/advice on how to get the scuffs out of that black plastic? Or, does anyone know if just that black portion is replaceable without replacing the whole rear bumper? Thanks.

Something like this would bother me too. I think I found something on ebay. I can't access the url but search for "Subaru 57731FJ070". It's #1 in the diagram.

Edit: Never mind. This number is for one of the other parts and #1 is the entire bumper cover. How bad is it? Did it gouge or just leave scrape marks? Got a picture?

Nope, http://subaru.epcdata.ru/impreza_gp_...dy/591/57731X/

Doesn't appear that the plastic trim part is separate.

Everything is replaceable if you want to do that, but this is definitely a first world type of problem.

I scuffed my bumper up high, painted the scuff with touch up paint, and lived to tell about it.

I also have a ding by the handle of my drivers door. Now when I walk up to the car I see it and am more careful opening the doors in parking lots.

Problem solved.

Maybe some black duct tape ? That way the next time all you have to replace is the tape. Consider it a sacrificial modification.

Well, without seeing it, maybe you can use a razor blade to remove any small pieces where the concrete may have tore into it. Use some alcohol or some engine degreaser to remove any scuff marks. Then get some Mother's Back to Black and see how that works.

I used Back to Black recently on the interior, and some of the exterior trim, it's pretty good, but leaves it a bit greasy, so be sure not to get any on your paint. Other than that, it looks good! I think i'll use it on my bumper within the next few days in fact, forgot that trim piece was there!
