Default JDM EJ205 in a 2005 WRX

I am needing help with the wiring on my car. I have seen the write up about wiring a JDM EJ207 into a usdm WRX but I need to put a JDM EJ205 into a WRX and that still has the TGV which I would like to retain.

Any assistance would be appreciated.

In addition, if your state looks for the OBD port for inspections, pay particular attention to how that's done. My understanding is that it isn't, but perhaps the guys providing ecus to run the jdm engines have adapted a USDM computer to somehow do it.

Thanks for the links but I have seen all of those except the first one and unfortunately none of them are applicable. Those guys are either using a 207 engine or a 205 w/o TGV.

I would like to retain TGV as I am using a JDM EJ205 engine and ECU which has TGV.

Is there a JDM wiring diagram in english?

Thanks but there is no inspection or emissions testing here!

Its cool for getting away with performance stuff but its kinda scary when you see the bald tires people drive around on.

If anyone has the JDM pin V8 pinout diagram for an EJ205 that would answer all questions.

So I thought I would share my recent experiences here in hope of helping people in the future.

So far I have wired the JDM EJ205 as if were the 207 except I added the AVCS solenoid wires rather than taking then from the TGVs. This is because the EJ 205 has TGVs.

On the other side for the AVCS sensors I ran 4 shielded wired from the gray connector on the passenger side to the ecu and grounded the shielding at the ECU.

I will report back on how this works once I get a chance to go test the car, I can't be certain as I never found a JDM EJ205 wiring diagram or ecu pinout, I just made assumptions based on how the EJ207 is wired.

Another problem I ran into is when I went to start it the first time the fuel pump would not run. After inspection of the ECU with my multimeter I found that I had popped a fuse. So I went ahead and put another one in and found that the fuse popped when the ignition was turned on.

It turns out when I put the engine in, the 02 sensor took a beating and was actually shorting out and blowing the fuse which is shared with the fuel pump.

Currently the engine starts but idles high and is hunting. I'm hoping the new O2 sensor will fix this.

So the idle issue was due to a bad IAC valve that looks like it was damaged due to an impact.

Got a new O2 sensor for $200.

Car was running decent throwing a P0356 code, one of the AVCS sensors I believe.

And now all of a sudden on a 10 mile drive it lost a ton of power and has no boost. Can't see anything disconnected no leaks.

This thing is a piece of ****!!!

Sorry, bad day working on the car.

I think the turbo crapped out somehow.. Making terrible grinding sounds. Time to replace.

The turbo shaft is broken the compressor wheel spins/ wobbles like a top and the turbine is stuck jammed sideways. What a piece of ****. Not sure I would ever recommend Tiger Japanese auto parts, we will see how they react I guess. Also found out why AVCS isn't working, seems one of the sensor wires were broken. Currently the top end is exploded all over my workbench. I'll get it back together and post the results.

Just got everything back together, no more engine codes and AVCS is working. But I blew another turbo.

I'm down 2 turbos now, getting another one tomorrow, guessing the oil feed is somehow clogged.

I noticed the JDM feed line has a restrictor, I'm thinking something is stuck in there.

Thanks, I finally got it sorted out, AVCS is working and I found that the banjo filter for the turbo oil feed was clogged, put another turbo on it and it seems to be working fine.

Also as a note, the speed limiter on a JDM EJ205 is 111MPH or 180KPH
