Try here: http://fsautoparts.com/site/

According to their web site:

- They are NE's largest Subaru used parts dealer.

- They have all types of used motors crated and ready to ship.

^ You would need to put 2.0 heads on a 2.5L shortblock or swap in 2.0 cams and do some other stuff to the 2.5L longblock to disable the AVCS to work on your car. Then you'll need a tune so it won't blow up.

Yea they're hard to find because noobs are always blowing up their motors street racing! Watch out for shady used motors, might be stolen.

I'm a noob to Subaru but you give me a inline four I can take it apart and put it back together with my eyes closed

Now the engine I swapped in was a 1990s gc8 wrx engine I had to convert intake cam gear crank gear and sensors and convert the obd1 it's from Nagano Japanese and its a fresh swap I just got it done two days ago it started making a moderate speed knock and would get faster only up to 2000rpms after 2000 the noise stops its only at idle the car also has real bad exhaust leak the "knock" sounds like a tapping slapping noise

Why would you put an older JDM engine in? Did you have any idea of the supporting mods required or what was truly involved?
Aside from the fact that the engine is having problems, you will now never be able to pass inspection. Your best course of action is to cut your losses and get rid of that engine, and replace or rebuild your original engine and return the car to its stock configuration.

Goodluck with that company man, that sucks.
When it comes time for another engine, when you start looking again, why dont you check out the "complete part-out" threads on here, if you already havnt done so. I alwaysss see ej20's on here. Miles vary of course, i've seen as low as 50k and as high as 150k+ But since your looking at used anyway, it may be right up your alley.

Most recently I bought a great NA EJ25 from Nagano USA. They usually have good used engines, with typically very low mileage. Other engines I got from them were also stout and had no issues. I'm also a competent gear head who did backyard swaps on my own.

There are too many variables involved to pinpoint your used JDM engine failure.

You installed an engine from a Japanese junkyard that could have been sitting for 7 or 8 years now. You can't just go redlining the thing and expect it to stand up to the abuse like a new or rebuilt engine might be able to.

Contact the company, they will probably send you another engine if you provide proof that the one you had installed died in a matter of days.

why didnt you just order a brand new USDM fully assembled short block from a subaru dealer. thats what i did when my engine blew, it was like $1200-1400 at the time and its like $1800 now. Fred Beans Subaru is where i got mine (in PA), and they offer a nasioc discount.
