JNA Performance lip finish is way better than my previous eBay lip DOOOOOOOD

This is the same lip Scotty ordered. $56 shipped off of ebay and came with hardware that I didn't use.

I removed the bumper and brought it inside since the weather sucked. Flipped it upside down, used factory hardware at the corners, and zip ties everywhere else. I also drilled additional holes/mounting locations so that the lip was nice and tight against the bumper all the way around.

Fit and finish is identical to the other ebay lip I had on my car, and the JNA lip I had before that. I'd be willing to bet they come from the same mold.

scotty, your head is so far up your own ass if you think an ebay lip is giving you better MPG. especially a negligible 1.5mpg. do you have any wind tunnel or actual evidence to support your stupid ass claim. the change could have simply come from a small change in driving habit, subconsciously coasting more or whatever. you have zero evidence to support your claim, once again.

apparently all us "kidiots" just need to blindly follow your stupid fvcking direction.

sorry but we aren't lemmings you douche.

I log every single tank of gas that goes through my car. The best I've ever gotten post swap is 19.7mpg, worst 19.1mpg. It's consistent.

After the lip, the next two tanks were 20.2mpg and 20.5mpg.

Then I lowered it more and over the next tank got 21.6mpg. I still need a couple more tanks on the new suspension to confirm.

On the pre-lip tanks, all different driving styles were present. This engine/turbo/trans combo doesn't seem to care or it normalizes over the whole tank. Call it what you want, but I'll take the extra 5% fuel economy for $56.

5% is negligible, the difference in that could be from pulling your foot off the gas a few seconds faster, not going WOT on a tank just 1 time, a weather change, headwinds, coasting downhill, not driving spirited. there are so many factors with MPG you can't with 100% certainty say that the lip gave you 5% better MPG. if you want to believe in the probable placebo effect the lip gave you that's awesome. lowering the car probably had a larger effect than the lip. not to mention over 2 tanks really is not a good sample size since you could be heavier on the gas or lighter depending on what MPG you want the car to get. those numbers are so easily manipulated.

also, why did you buy your WRX if you are so worried about MPG? i'll never understand that.

1: My measurements are over multiple tanks, all with varied driving conditions, over the course of multiple years of ownership.

2: 5% or ~1mpg, if consistent, is enough for this to be a "free" mod over the course of 6 months with the amount of driving I do.

3: I already mentioned that I need more tanks before I can say definitively that either had an effect.

4: If MPG can be improved this easilly while making the car look better, why not do it?

5: As I said before, even when abusing the hell out of the car for a day, over the course of the full tank, the worst I've ever gotten, was 19.1.

the problem is you cannot directly correlate the lip to being the cause of higher MPG. regardless of what "data" you think you have.

i agree with number 4, but there is no actual data that says your lip caused your MPG to go up. it does make the car look better and for 60 bucks thats definitely worth it.

but you need actual wind tunnel and scientific data as far as the MPG, running it on a dyno with and without the lip to get true data on your mpg. there are too many variables.

Or I can just drive the car and continue to calculate the MPG over the tank of gas.
