Default Weird Issue with Kartboy SS and Stock Shift Knob

I recently swapped over from my KillerB shift knob back to stock... this is the first time i put the stock knob on my KartBoy SS... When the stock knob gets snug/tight it is not facing the front of the car... it is not strait. Has anyone else run into this issue. I tried finding some washing that might help the issue last night at Lowes, but no luck. 2012 WRX

Did you try tightening it more til faces forward?

And yes, it will tighten down farther. Your shift knob has a nylon insert like a lock nut.

That would be 3/4 of a full rotation... it is pretty snug pointed to the right... i did not want to force it, ruin the threads, and then have it not fit properly on the stock shift lever.

Did you have this same issue?

Just tighten it down more. The plastic threads will be fine.

No luck... im thinking about using a dremel and removing some of the nylon inside the bottom portion of the knob... so it can lower down over the non threaded portion of the shifter

Why don't u save yourself the hassle and just wrap some electrical tape around the threads of the shifter, then put the knob on. Still to loose put more tape on until the knob turns tight to where u want it/

teflon tape solved the issue... less mess than electrical or any other type of adhesive tape
