Default Trip to France netted Impreza Turbo Diesel Photos

Having worked on Subarus for the past 9 years I thought I could find out information on just about any model under the sun, wow, was I wrong. I quickly found out snapping the photos were the easy part, finding out vehicle details were the difficult task for this Diesel propelled Impreza. From what I gathered, this is a 2008-2010 Impreza GR Turbo Diesel. I tried to use the front bumper and grill as my model year guide, but I never did find an exact EDM match (or world market for that matter). The body is definitely a GR and it had the factory 6 speed. Everything else inside looked pretty similar to US spec GR models.

Enough about my trials and tribulations, feel free to read the whole article in our Blog which explains where the car was found as well as additional photos and details. Feel free to contribute to this thread with additional model specific information so as to help the next person who travels down the path I just took.

I would love a boxer diesel mated to a 6 speed here.

Sorry, no luck there. I did pull this image from the web and found a UK based auto review video that shows the entire car, including engine bay. Warning: it is set to some soft jazz music

Owner was nowhere to be found The car was spotted in the town of Bride-Les-Bain, down the valley from Meribel.

Thanks for the link. The only other way I was able to find info was through Subaru Global, but it was no where near as entertaining as your link That little stinker gets 621 miles to the tank!!! It makes me cry to think my 08 FXT struggles to get 300 and my GC8 w/ 06 2.5 turbo gets 330. Only when they are combined can I match the distance!

Come on Subaru, bring us the diesel! It will be a tuners paradise too.

Imagine I you could get your hands on this as a crate engine. I think a GC8 with a diesel would make for one fun combo.

Whoops, missed an R in there

Our pack did happen upon a quaint little mid mountain bar called the Le Folie Douce. You could hear the music pounding from miles away. There was no shortage of females, males, live music, or libations there.

JSchell1309- I love the exhaust tone as it pulls away! It would definitely make me do a double take.

Here is the video in reference, grabbed from JSchell1309's link (thank you!)
