Have a Nice Day? Pros needed. To swap again! Ver9 in a new bugeye shell vs rebuild my ver8

Here's my dilemma-

Over the past 4 years Ive been upgrading my Bugeye. Just finished my final mods before going to get a respray and as luck would have it a family of deer step in and end my fun. Long story short, I swerved to dodge them at 50 mph car spun and hit a wall. The car stalled(or so i thought) and I tried to start her up and heard the fatal noise of valves clashing. Shots rang out shortly after in the direction of the wildlife... ...

I did all the previous work on the bug myself-Version8 longblock swap-rewired for AVCS, tuned, coilovers, brembos etc.

My car has over 200k on the frame. Ive decided that I would rather find another 02-03(bugeye) that needs an engine and swap all my mods over to the new one rather than fix my old ones body.

Should I bother with trying to have the version 8 rebuilt or just part it and get a version 9 to put into the new shell.

Is rebuilding a JDM V8 engine after timing failure worth the risk- Ive been quoted $1500 dollars for a complete forged rebuild from a reputable tuner here in TN.

Its getting hard to find version 8's Id trust and I like the idea of dual AVCS on the 9's. Ive found a ver 9 longblock/ecu/turbo for 3200 shipped.

With a ver9 is the wiring going to be any different than my ver 8 swap was-is ver9 still 16 bit?

V8 and V9 are identical swaps OTHER than the V9 having an immobilizer. So you would either need EVERYTHING from the V9 car to start it OR find a V9 Spec C (no immobilizer) or run the V9 with a V7 or V8 ecu.

What is the roller bearing upgrade?

And +1 for V9, but take a look at my thread, I update it oftenly and just came up with a new thing about V9.

Its a roller bearing setup for the 500 coilovers up front to allow them to freely turn and never bind under load.

Ill post some up if i decide to go the sell it route, Im thinking I may just keep it and put the new shell donor's ej205 in it to use as a rally cross car- then no worries if I slide of course, gravel her up, etc..
