Default WRB Clear Plasti Dip Bugeye experiment

Well I hadnt seen it done and figured I would give it a shot. 6 coats of clear plasti dip on my WRB Bugeye. I think it cam out pretty cool, just flat enough to make the lines of the car pop a good bit more without it looking like a craptastic paint job. Plus I'm about to drive cross country (again) and plan on running through bonneville so this was a cheap alternative to help save my paint a bit.

I will try to get better pictures once the wonderful Seattle weather wants to cooperate for more than 15min...

Also here is my poor excuse of a build thread for anyone that is interested.

Thanks, the wheels I have on now are my DD/Winters but I'm thinking of powdercoating them gunmetal. Just dont think the silver fits right anymore.

i was actually thinking about this for a while.

I dipped a few parts with clear to matte them on another subaru, did you notice any odd air bubbles or possible globs from the rattle can atomization? I shot one piece that came out pretty good, but another one did not get as fine of a mist and trapped some air bubbles in the finish...

BE VERY CAREFUL when peeling this stuff off:

Actually I bought the paint by the gallon and had it sprayed in a booth by a friend of mine. I took the after effects into consideration, but considering the body has over 150k miles and honestly the paint is pretty beat up. So if it does mess it up I would just finally get the car properly repainted. But if this stuff last as advertised then I have no plans of changing it.

How many gallons did it take? I'm definitely thinking about doing this to my car

3gallons, I suggest 4 so you have one gallon to practice with.

Looks good man! Don't mind all the haters ha. I live in Virginia right now (navy) but home state is Washington. About 45 min north of Seattle. Next time I drive cross country back home I'll keep an eye out in the Seattle area and shoot ya the scoob wave ha. Again looks great!! Cheers.
