After getting bored with my car I decided to upgrade from 1300cc injector to some 2150cc injectors and a exedy twin disk clutch.

So I get everything installed start up the car and start dialing in the new injectors. I couldnt get it to idle correctly so I took the new 2150cc's out and put the old 1300cc's back in.

Car starts up perfect with no problems. Cool.

Drive the car to the gas station to fill up and all they had was some 91oct non ethanol fuel (im tuned on 92oct) which I was fine with since I wouldnt be running any boost for the clutch break in period.

So I run through a tank of gas with no CEL or anything out of the ordinary.

Fill up with some 92oct and not 20miles later my car starts to hesitate between shift and finally throws a code for all 4 cylinder misfires...... Ok maybe some bad gas so I put some fuel injector cleaner in there and run the tank down to 1/4 a tank and fill up with some new 92oct.

Reset the ecu start driving around and seems to be better. Ok cool it was bad gas. Shut the car off and leave it for the night. Go and start it up the next moring and BAM anohter CEL for misfires in all 4 cylinders. UGH!!!!

So at this point im decided that im close enough to the 500mile mark on the clutch break in that I decided to hit some boost to see what happens. Before the clutch install I would be hitting 25psi on the DOT. But now im only hitting 20-21psi......

Im stumped as to why my car would go from running perfectly fine to running like total crap...??? Doesnt make sense as to why the car would run fine with 91oct and run like crap with 92oct?

I would start with checking for boost leaks and look at the plugs.

Will do. Im running some 1 step colder plugs and have some good oem plugs at home you think it would hurt anything by just switching the 2 out and seeing if anything changes?

I am having the same problem. I am still on stock internals its a 2006 sit. I am also running iridium 1 step colder plugs. my mods include
precision 5858
perrin rotated kit
tial44 waste gate
greddy typerz bov
tgv deletes
1000cc injectors
agency power fuel rails
tbe
fmic
aem water meth.
Got everything put together fired it up and had a few vacuum leaks. Got those fixed and it idled and ran just fine. Went to get it tuned and we made 1 pull no problems. pulled into a parking lot to revise the map and it started idling really bad and just shut off. got it started and limped it home. sat for a few days and i fired it up and it ran just fine. then drove it and it started missing on all 4 cylinders. now i cant even get it to run. I can get it to start and it will idle for about 10 seconds then it dies. I am out of ideas, i am gonna tear it down again and double check everything. I will keep posted if it is something that is a easy fix. If you have any other trouble shooting tips that i haven't tried i would really appreciate it.

Thanks,
Nick

I think it comes down to a vac leak (prob PRE turbo) uppipe to header. Or the front o2 is going bad. Or your fuel pressure isn't adjusted correctly. Are you running 100% SD or are you MAF based?

tried running 100% SD and then tried a "blend" i believe that is what he was calling it.
Both with the same failed results. I replaced all gaskets from the heads to the turbo.
I am running the factory Fuel press regulator. Could i possibly have a bad fuel press regulator? Only thing that throws me off about the front 02 sensor is it wont even idle to warm up and see if the 02 sensor is reading. could it still affect the idle if the sensor wasn't warmed up?

his name is jesse. He is out of bountiful utah. he is smart and helped with a lot of other little probs. He was scratching his head and ran out of ideas on what to check. He was saying if running 100% SD a small vac leak would give me the probs i was having. would you think the same thing?

Your car should start even with a small vac leak though. Thats why im leaning towards fueling issue.

Well so far I have checked and noticed a couple things.
- Car only misfires at idle
- Checked for vac leaks and couldnt find any
- Did a quick check on 1 spark plug before I went to work and looks perfectly normal(light grey) not wet or anything.
- Checked inline fuel filter and its good.
- Checked engine grounds and all of them seem to be good.

What year is your car and how many miles are on it? I ordered a new front o2 sensor, it will be here in the morning. I am gonna try that and see if it fixes it. I called Nate wade subaru and talked to the tec and he said it sounds like all the symptoms of a bad front o2 sensor. I'm keeping my fingers crossed!

For those who run into this problem. My problem came down to crappy dw 1300cc injectors. The loss of boost was do to a couple boost leaks.

I'd be interested in finding out if the injectors were actually the problem and why. Would you mind sending me a PM regarding the issue?

Thank you
