Default 03 wrx syncro clunk?

My 03 wrx tranny is giving me a grind/clunk feedback when shifting into 1st from a stop (kinda like the syncro is not fully stopped)

Had my transmission rebuilt after having worn out output shaft bearings and also decided to replace numerous other bearings and the 3rd & 4th gear set.

all was fine for about 7k miles but now im starting to have intermediate 1st gear clunk as i select 1st from neutral while at a stop and sometimes other gears as i shift thru the gears at normal city driving speeds.

the problem seems to be more prevalent when the car is fully warmed up (30min or more of driving) and not a problem on short trips or at start up in the AM. clutch peddle seems fine

so far i have insured the clutch fluid was full and drained the tranny fluid and refilled it with Subaru's Extra S.

clutch has about 20k easy miles
car has 190k

could this be a bad tranny rebuild?
master cylinder or slave going bad?
a bad tranny sensor?
does clutch fluid need to be flushed?

anything else?

Could be hydraulic. I'd flush and fill there before thinking its am internal issue. ESP since its worse after warm-up
