Targa STPR. Good enough reason to quit the day job.

I'll be there, navigating in one of the sweep cars. And hopefully not puking.

Tis not so bad at sweep speed and not reading notes and STPR except for Waste Management is not cresty technical roads. Just keep hydrated & cool and you'll be OK. Not dwelling on it helps but if you are really prone to motion sickness, you can get the Transderm Scōp (Scopolamine) patch.

Sweep is the best job, get to see all the stages and carnage plus the challenges of ensuring everyones saftey including prep of wreaks for second passes of a stage and extracting cars from the depths of the forests. Congrats and have fun.

I'm thinking about going there this year for the first time. Anything I should know? I probably won't volunteer at all since I'm not familiar with the program.

I volunteered my first year. It was easy as a corner marshal. Just show up on time for your meeting, follow your crew to the woods and they'll put you at a corner. When everything is done they come and get you and caravan back to town. My crew usually goes to spectate together after our morning stage is done. Plus, only volunteers can see any action in the woods on Friday, other than the VIP ticket people.

I'm also out this year. Some excuse about people starting families, and my need to spend some downtime not running around at a rally.

Don't have too much fun. Have seen sweep driving up last competitor's butts in the dust and miss cars which had gone off. Kinda scary realizing someone is missing when sweep finishes but not all the starters are accounted for.

I'll be there Friday evening. This will be my first time going and I also plan to volunteer but I won't make it there till around 7-8 PM due to my job. Will this be a problem to register? Or would I have to be there Friday morning? Regardless, I hope to meet many of you as it'll just be myself going up. Although I do have my co-worker going but he's going with his brother. I also heard there was a Subaru meet at the grand canyon too? Anyone know about that?

It's a shame L'Estage wrecked the WRC EVO.

Has anyone found the spectator map that has all the spectating locations and lays out the stages? I remember seeing something like that on the STPR site last year but cannot seem to find it on the current site. Does this not come out until closer to the event?

Thanks!
