Make sure everything is lubed up all nice! I used a healthy amount of marine grease on the sway bushings and endlinks. That should solve the clunk

I cranked everything down a bit tighter after work today, no more clunk. If it comes back, I'll try lubing it up.

Be warned that the service manual does not call for greasing the bushings and end links. Doing so is not sanctioned by Subaru. Do so at your own risk.

I know that some aftermarket bars and bushings call for lube, and even provide grease fittings. But this is not the case on the OEM hardware.

Question for someone who knows more than I do. I have the sport package with stock 16mm sway bar. I just installed a 1 inch lift in front and 1 3/8 in back. I don't notice any extra body roll in back from this lift. Could it be because the control arms are lower and putting more tension in the sway bar and making it act stiffer? Would it still improve handling to get the 19mm? Please help me out. Thanks

I honestly doubt that the control arms are doing anything to the sway bar, based on how sway bars work. The sway bar is probably functioning exactly the same as it always does. You likely aren't noticing more body roll due to just not driving it hard enough, combined with the probability that raising a chassis as well designed and stable as this one isn't all that affected by an inch of height. After all the Crosstrek is over two inches taller and still handles very well. If it aint broke don't fix it. With that being said, you REALLY should post pics of the lift and explain how you did it. Possibly a walkthrough if you feel like it. A good few of us have been seriously considering a lift but I think you may be one of the first to do it without using Crosstrek struts so many of us would be very interested in indeed.

has anyone gone to 22mm yet? if so how is the balance?
i wanted to go with 22mm right off the bat (16mm presently) but due to the cost jump i ordered a 19mm to give that a shot first.

Good choice. Most folks here feel that 19mm gives the best balance, and that 22mm would induce too much oversteer.

the car handles decently with the 16mm bar (a good upgrade for base models for sure) but still pushes too much for my liking (coming from a previous setup with a lot less compliance). 22mm doesn't scare me tbh, i'm just thinking 19mm is a good compromise between handling improvement and price since it's a big jump from $100 for the 19mm to $500 for a bigger rsb and beefier end links. i'm sure 19mm will give it a bit more turn-in bite but i still don't expect a 19mm bar to neutralize the balance completely

fwiw many moons ago, stock WRXs came with a 20mm rsb.

edit- ^^^ but then again, subaru went back to 17mm shortly after; probably after one too many TTO accidents so maybe 19mm is a good compromise for a rain/snow/slush daily driver

this certainly looks like a good upgrade.

Anyone know if a 2013 STi sway bar would work too? I found some guy selling one on craigslist, but I want to check to make sure it'll fit.

It should fit. I don't believe the 2013 STI sway bar is any different from the 2008 through 2012 STI sway bar.

I'm thinking about installing a rear sway bar on my 2013 Impreza 2.0i Base model sedan. Can anyone post a picture of a rear sway bar installed on one? I suppose it doesn't really need to be of the base model or the sedan. Just would like to see where it mounts and everything.

No, of course not. They come stock on most models.

To Vegas: If you google it, it will you show you basically where its located and what the parts look like. Good luck getting someone to take a picture.

If youre thinking about getting one, youre overthinking it. Install takes about 5-10 mins.

The only problem I had installing mine was realizing I needed an allen wrench to install it. Once I saw that, it went smoothly

Couldn't find any good images by searching Google. Did find a couple pictures by looking at custom exhaust on the forum though. Looks pretty simple. And the only thing I'm thinking about is that I'm pretty close to broke and not sure if I want to put one on my credit card.

Well, collect scrap aluminum and copper for a week or two and then buy one. If I decide to upgrade my stock rsb in the future, you can just have it for whatever the shipping costs. But I'm in no hurry to replace mine. May do it after christmas. I'm going with the oem 19mm when I do.
