Angry Need Help Finding Wrx Engine W/ Tranny For Swap Into Impreza

I have a impreza outback sport, and I am trying to swap for a wrx engine and 5 speed tranny, none of the jdm motors are not going to allow me to pass emissions, so I need a USDM ej20 with wiring harness

I have a 2002

Any help is appreciated didn't know it was this hard to find a USDM motor haha.

The reason you can't pass emissions with a jdm motor is due to the EGR valve. You need to swap the intake manifolds. I was under the impression that the JDM motors did not have the EGR valve drilled in the head, but the one i bought did. All i had to do was swap intake manifolds. Granted, this was for a direct replacement and not a swap on a N/A Legacy, so i could be talkin out my ass haha

jdm..

not a single USDM, I checked craigslist for totaled a totaled wrx none came up, its just my engine now isn't running, ill find out tomorrow what the reason is but I believe its the timing belt and after they replace the water pump and all that its gonna be a grand, and I have 221,624 miles on that engine so its time for the swap so hoping to find one soon so im not out a car forever.

foreign engines in lynnwood sells good jdm used engines. you have to swap the intake and stuff but they drill the egr hole for you. pretty easy and affordable IMO. I did mine in a weekend with basic tools and a rented cherry picker

That's where i got mine. However, when they dropped it off, they never knocked on my door and left it and the end of my driveway while it was pouring down rain. I was not happy about that.

Anymore if you want a USDM engine you have to buy the wrecked car whole. That is why JDM engines look cheap. Search the forums. Your answers await.

You couldn't have looked at CL or here hard enough bc I have a running EJ205 for sale right now, and intake. Don't have the wiring harness you'll need, but I've got the short block, heads, intake, fuel pump, rails, ect. Already sold the injectors though
