Just because that's where it was, does not mean that's where it's supposed to go.

The right strut (black) are fronts, throw pics up of all the struts you have that you are concerned about. Also google the p/n's on the struts that can help too.

I agree with everyone else, black strut is front, cherry blossom red (aka the color of the warrior ) is rear. Here are some pics of the bases of a front 02-07 spring and a rear 04-07 spring if it helps.

Front

Rear

It should be stamped on the strut which position it is. The JDM pink struts I had on my 04 were all labeled / stamped - LF, LR, RF, or RR.

OP, if someone mounted a rear strut on the front of your car, they may be some other shenanigans and hijinks going on. Someone either did not know what they were doing or just threw it on because it fit.
Take a good look around your car and make sure things seem right. Ask for some help too if you are not familiar with how things are supposed to look.

On a side note, those Feals are NICE!!!

OP, how was the stock camber bolt installed in that rear strut? I don't think it would fit without drilling out one of the top holes. I'm baffled as to why someone would do that.
Does the car still have the stock, lobbed front upper camber bolt? Or did they just throw a regular straight bolt in the top front hole?

Top hole had the camber bolt and bottom hole had regular bolt. It was like that on all 4 struts

I don't mean to sound like a smart a**, but can you tell if the front top camber bolt is a stock one and not an aftermarket one? It's very important that only a stock camber bolt goes in the front top. Aftermarket ones are not strong enough for that location.

Did you install the rear camber bolt or the previous owner? There were no camber bolts stock in the rear.

i'm not sure it's physically possible to install rear struts on the front without modifying them excessively.

For instance, those camber bolts on the front won't fit in the rear struts. I also don't think that the top mounts will fit...

But ya.... like Bikelok said... we won't know until we see them... so take a pic...

A full set should look like this... Fronts are on the left, rears on the right.

I'm not an STI strut expert, but they look like they may be an older V6 or V7 type STI strut.
The newer versions front spring perch have a taller lip and have holes along the perimeter.
