Default Aftermarket speakers and amp worth it?

I need to replace my 09 wrx sound system because its so boring as many know. Question is has anybody replaced their speakers and maybe added an amp for the speakers? Does it help add a lot more bass/frequencies? I have a subwoofer from my previous car but I wanted to avoid putting it in this car because its kind of a nuisance in the trunk. Any input would be great thanks!

Worth it? Yes. Fiberglass a sub in a corner with an amp under a seat and use the factory deck. That's what I'm doing.

I replaced my speakers and added an amp and it made an incredible difference. So much that I don't need to replace the stock HU. I sounds GREAT.

I'm trying to find any kind of links to videos on what to go under, where to run the wires, or exactly how to run the power wire through the firewall.. I'm kinda new at running wires through cars for my 4 chanel and 2 chanel sub amps and subs.

Have you looked at the jl audio stealth boxes for the sub? and if you do keep your stock head unit u need to use pac converters so u can plug into the amps my friend had to do that with his g35 coupe i like the sound that goes with a sub but honestly its all about what your looking for in your system
