Default Yellow? why not, yolo

Since winter is now over and I got my cracked bumper replace, I was thinking about painting my chrome housing to yellow. Instead of using yellow layovers for the whole light assy, I am just gonna paint it yellow. What do you guys think?

Translucent yellow vinyl and painted housings are two COMPLETELY different looks. The yellow film looks good if you're going for that racecar look, but I'm not sure how yellow painted housings will look....I've never like painted housings unless its black, but that's just me.

My guess would be everything but the high beam reflector and turn indicator.

Probably something like this, but yellow instead of white.

EXACTLY, except at the the lights i would still leave a chrome circle, a little angel eyes. I went to Auto Trim and they don't have any overlays for headlights . So I might do it this weekend.

Lamin-x has overlays. I wouldn't do the highbeam reflectors unless what your using is heat resistant. If you're going to do halos I recommend chip on board LED halos. Very bright, no ballast and not as temperature sensitive as CCFL halos.

They are online. I had them on my car when the '06 front end was still on. I'm thinking of getting their overlays now that I have the Bugeye front end.

i see what you are going for airborne. A few questions could be:

What shade of yellow? yellow pearl? Will the heat from the lights fade the yellow? will the sun fade the yellow? What type of paint?

Hopefully others can chime in with additional relevant questions, because I wouldn't want you to do the yellow housing then have to redo again to get it perfect.
