Default 2005 Sti ecu in 2007 Sti?

Ok so I have a 2007 N/A Impreza that I'm swapping to an Sti engine.
I have everything basically figured out except the ecu/immobilizer I picked up where from an 05 Sti. After reading the only pinout info I could find. It seams like they are different from 2005-2006-2007 changing every year? Seems kind of pointless that it would have been changed every year. Can anyone confirm this? And if this is true should I just repin the harness (2007 bulkhead) for the 05 ecu or do I have to source a 2007 Sti ecu?
Hopefully someone can help me out.

Maybe possible if you use the sti 04 ecu doesn't have the immubilizer.

I have an 05 ecu with matching immobilizer and key but I'm trying to figure out if the pinouts are the same or not for the 07 harness?
If I have to buy another ecu I'm going to get an 07 with matching immobilizer and key. But I would like to use this 05 since I already have it but need to confirm weather or not the pinouts are the same or different...

I just finished my sti swap into my 06 na 2.5i today. I went with the same year (06) sti ecu, ignition and key, and immobilizer control unit and had no problems. I also had a full 06 sti harness from head light to tail lights. exactly what pinouts are you looking for?

Well I'm looking for the 05 and 07 Sti pinouts. Then if I decide to use the 05 ecu I can repin the harness and be good. But I'm starting to think I should sell the 05 stuff and get an 07 ecu/immobilizer/key

I can send you full wiring diagrams off all the systems on a 06 sti (should be the same as 07) and a 04 sti. OR I have access to 05 wiring diagrams but they are individual system as in power schematic, ground schematic, engine schematic, exc.... would just need to know exactly what 05 schematics your after.

Nope.

2004-2006 USDM STI wiring are fairly similar, while the 2007 USDM STI more closely matches the 2005-2006 USDM WRX and 2008+ WRX/STI.

The oddest years (speaking on a worldwide scale here) for wiring were the 2004-2006 USDM STI. They were more-or-less a test bench for the DBW (4-plug, 32-bit) ECU changeover.

There are minor differences every year (i.e. ECU-controlled alternator was dropped after the 2004 STI), but those are the biggest.

You *can* have a patch loom made up, but the cost is around $500; I'm having one made in about a week to install a MoTeC WRX9-10 into a 2006 STI, but without a legitimate reason to spend this kind of money, the patch loom probably costs far more than it's worth.

Your best bet is to likely get the full STI harness, from bumper to bumper for your model year. If you decide to make a patch loom, I'll let you know up front that it took me about 1-2 months to sort it out before finalizing the double-ended wire list... good luck!

So I don't need this any longer. That's for your replies. And they would have helped if I was continuing to do this swap. But I bought a 2004 wrx with the 2.0 and am going to be swapping the Sti block and heads in.
Guess I need to sell some wiring.
