Default Rsearching 5x114.3 conversion. hopefully what i found is correct.

ok so tonight i have been in front of the computer for what seems days researching the 5x100 to 5x114.3 conversion on my 2012 wrx. i think this is the overall parts list but im not positive if i missed something or if it is incorrect information.

im looking into the conversion mainly for the upgraded hubs and bearings as i will be tracking the car shortly. the extra wheel choices are just an added bonus. I also will be keeping my 5 speed and eventually drop a set up upgraded gears in it, as i like the longer gears.here goes with my list

Front
-STI hubs and bearings
-STI knuckle
-STI brembos
-aftermarket front lsd to match rear r180 drive ratio
-STI front drive axles
-STI coilovers/struts springs
-5x114.3 wheels

Rear
-STI knuckle
-STI hub and bearings
-STI rear drive axles
-r180 3.90 drive ratio
-r160 drivgeshaft flange transfered to r180 to mate up to 5 speed driveshaft

i think that is everything, hopefully it is correct. i will be continuing my research on the matter. any feedback as to if im any where near close getting the correct componets are greatly appreciated.

not neccessarily. i got a smoking deal on a base wrx. from the beginning i was planning on upgrading and modifying the suspension and braking system heavily, so it made no sense to start off with the sti's higher price tag.

Bumping this back up in hope of some more info.

Since the GR Chassis utilizes the bolt in hub/bearing set instead of press in, as long as the hub races were the same size, wouldn't they just bolt straight in?

My roommate did a 6 speed STi swap on his 09 WRX, and used the STi rear axles and his factory WRX axles up front to complete the swap. Same spline count and everything.

So that got me thinking about just being able to unbolt the WRX hub set and bolt in and STi.

Anyone else have input on this?

-Markos

Edit: D'oh, posted under my work account.

*****Update*****

Measured out a set of 5x100 and 5x114.3 hubs since we had a set in stock at work, and my idea will not work. You WILL need to swap hubs, knuckles, front struts (due to the thicker knuckle mount), etc to complete the 5x100 to 5x114.3 conversion.

I really don't think he's doing it for the fitment scene he probably wants the better R180 wheel bearing.
