Default Flashing Cruise Control

So I got a flashing cruise control light tonight on my 06 wrx. STI TMIC, catless TBE, cobb style SRI and XPT stage 2 map with adjusted MAF table. No CEL....

It flashed for about 1 mile, then I shut the car off and restarted and now it's gone. Any ideas about potential problems/troubleshooting?

Thanks in advance

I had a cobb with my '07 WRX a few months ago, and when I switched the tune back to the base tune (deleted/uninstalled stage 2 tune), I got a flashing Cruise control light and a CEL when accelerating in 5th gear at lower RPM (stupid me) because there was some boost creep at low RPM. I think you should be ok if the light is off now. The cruise control flashing means that it is disabled.

I do find it curious that the CEL light is off altogether.

Hope this at least helps get you started. I think you should be ok now. Hard to diagnose now that the "problem" has gone away

I've had that happen before. When it has, I've had the cruise turned on, but wasn't using it.

It was always when I was playing around in the snow. Probably the cars way of telling me I shouldn't have the cruise on...

Turning the car off has always reset it.

Appeared again tonight. Can't be from overboosting because I noticed it just after I pulled out of the garage and was going downhill....and yes there is no CEL.

Ya that's strange especially with no cel. I would try disconnecting the battery and wait few minutes then reconnect to reset the ecm, see if this fixes this issue.

Take it to autozone and have them load test your battery and alternator.
