Default Installing Whiteline Front Control Arm Front Inner Bushing

Hey guys,

`05 STI

I bought these Whiteline bushings, and i'm trying to find any sort of documentation on how to install them, but can't seem to find anything. I read something about needing a machine shop to press these into the control arms?!

W52837 is the part number, and can be seen here: http://www.jnaperformance.com/index....roduct_id=2286

Thanks!

You will have to have the old ones pressed/cut out, and new ones pressed in. Any shop with a press should be able to do it. I had a different set of bushings done at a midas for 10 dollarbucks, but that was just bringing the part in, not having them perform the rest of the work - obviously.

Not only do you need a press, but an alignment afterwards.

I would recommend a 20ton press minimum! a 10ton would not cut it, and the bushing will laugh at you.

Wow lol - probably just going to send these back then. Not worth the hassle!

Thanks for the input guys! How much do you think it would cost, should I want to have a shop install them?

The labor is all tied up in removing the arms and putting them back in. While you are doing that, and other bits need to come off, you could do a myriad of other things too. like whiteline roll center adjusters, front sway bars, brake upgrades, ALK, caster adding mod, etc...

I had bushings pressed in for around $30. This was the front a-arms, lateral links, and trailing arms. The labor to install all of that in SoCal along with an 04 STi rack and alignment was near or over a grand in labor. Considering what I had done, well within reason.

Just that bushing alone is a waste until you queue up a few other items as a package install.
