Recently (Saturday), I installed a invidia divorced catless downpipe on my 2012 Wrx 5dr. I also have a tomioka IC to TB hose(prior boost leak). Flashed to cobb stage 2 and test drove. I have driven around 150 mile since the install and I have a whistle sound low in the rpm range. Below 2500rpm or so. Is this a normal sound for. Catless stage 2 set up(no intake) or should I be concerned with leaks? I have made sure all connections are tight. It really is only noticeable when leaving from a stop gently getting up to speed.

check all of your connections to the I/C unit. Do a smoke test if you can. Seeing by eye doesn't mean much.

I'm also experiencing a similar issue after going stage 2 with a catted DP. Same thing I only hear it while gingerly accelerating, and also only hear it under 3k rpms out of boost. I checked all lines and and none appear to be leaking. I'm also able to hit target boost.

Is this possibly just a result of a bit more sound coming through from the less restrictive downpipe?

Yes I am able to hit target boost. No I do not have a smoke machine. I really hope it is just more noticeable because of the less restrictive downpipe. I'm paranoid.

Someone else ever have this issue? Maybe an exhaust leak?

Mine does it. I hit target boost, so don't worry about it.

TIC installed it, and said my dp was a little tough to seal up. If it gets worse, I'll take it back to them.

So then I'm gonna guess an exhaust leak. Ill jack the car up today and re torque everything down. Hopefully this will cure the sound. If not ill keep trying..... No issues with your car other then the low rpm whistle?^^

I have this same issue and noticed the whistle (in low rpm range) right after installing a new MadDad hi-flow catted dp, PW TMIC, Tial QR BPV, and AEM CAI. At first I suspected it was the air pump since I had to remove it when replacing plugs, but the whistle continues after the engine had been running at normal operating temps.

Double checked all connections and confirmed no leaks.

My tuner said the whistling most likely is a result of turbo fan (hot side) creating a vortex that can now be heard due to the recent DP upgrade. Over the past week the whisling has subsided and I only notice it on rare occasions.
