Default Is this normal?

I drove my 05 sti for about 15-20 mins yesterday. When I got home I noticed that the upper radiator hose was hot to the touch as was the mishimoto radiator, while the lower hose was ice cold. Does it normally take that long for the tstat to open? After driving it hard on the highway today for about 20 miles the bottom hose was hot(not as hot a upper)? Also the fans are never on when I open the hood after any drive, only if I turn on ac.

Please help!

Could be normal, thermostat will only open at a certain temp, if it doesn't get to that temp and your not overheating well...I'd say your okay.

Do you have an accessport? If So use it to monitor you coolant temp in real time. This way you can see exactly what it is doing. Like he said, could be normal.
