Default dont know what im dooing

so i have an 98 Impreza obs with a 2.2l EJ22E. my 2.2 has had massively dangerous hesitation issues wich my local Subaru dealer could not figure out.and i've spent the last year trying to figure out to no avail. i have the possibility of getting a 97 Legacy GT 2.5l that's not able to be insured. so what id like to know is how hard is it to swap the 2.5 into my 2.2 and what all would need to be done. like do i need to swap the whole harness or can i just yank the damn thing out and plug in the 2.5? i have done motor swaps before but only ever on Rx-7's with no wiring needed. Subaru's confuse the hell outta me. any help would be extreamly appreciated. thanks

if you tell us where you live that might help people poiint you in the right direction.

If you are in the northeast, I would suggest contacting the guys at ECS (east coast swappers) they (from my recall of their site) offer the service of doing the full swap all the way down to doing the wiring work for you and letting you do all the wrench turning.

If you search the regional forum for your location that may help. (but if you're sending harnesses in the mail it doesn't really matter where they go)

You don't need to do any wiring it's a direct replacement. Everything will just plug in. You need to swap the exhaust header over one is single port and the other dual.

Go here and poke around/ask questions, especially about a local shop to help you:
