Default MBC issues

When I had my car rebuilt the builder said it was running a manual boost controller which I didn't know about because I just had bought the car used.

I found some torn vacuum lines and split oil breather lines. I replaced them and now the car is staying at just below .05 bar boost.

Im running cobb stage 1 and it sits right at .1 bar but dropped down and stays right at .04-.05 bar after I replaces those hoses. Doesn't make sense?

I have no clue where the mbc is an if that's what causing. Any help would be really appreciated. Thanks!

Yeah it was just the tiny lines running from the wastegate actuator (tdo4) to a T that then split and runs to the intake and then one to a lil box the size of a roll or quarters right next to the stock airbox

You need to locate the MBC and adjust it, sounds like you fixed a boost leak. Follow the lines back to something that looks like this:

The top is a MBC and the bottom is an EBCS. What do you have?

If you are using the stock boost gauge the reading is in MPa and not BAR.

sounds like its not hooked right, the mbc should be inbetween the wastegate actuator and boost source (nipple on compressor cover). No T's are needed.

It could be in hybrid configuration with the mbc and ebc but can't tell without pics.

Ok so here's some pics of the setup. Your help is appreciated! Lets diagnose this thing!

The line you see running from the T in the first pic is then running thru my fingers in pic 2 and into the lil blue box in pic 3 along with another vaccum line

That is a stock EBCS, not a MBC.

stock ebcs, either the inner diameter of your new hoses are slightly big or you forgot to put back in the restrictor pill that was in one of the stock hoses

Just checked. Pill is still there. You really think the hose size could do it? It's the same size

The hose size -could- make a difference but not with the very small difference that might exist between the installed hoses and the stock hoses, especially if the correct pill is installed.

Is the pill in the correct location?

I never changed the pill location. Only replaced the 2-3" inch long ones right there by the wastegate actuator and the nipple on the cold side of the turbo

Ok so I just put on new, smaller diameter hoses and it's still not boosting about the 7.2-7.8 pound mark on the MPa scale. So any other ideas? Could my stage one Cobb tune have gone south and is limiting it at that level? Should I reflash?

Discovered that the pill is missing and this is why it's screwed up. I didn't realize it was within one of the hoses

I got it solved. The pill was accidentally thrown out when we did the lines. I didn't realize where/what it was and I thought it was in a different location.
