Default JDM ej20 Identification help!??

Putting this motor in to a 05 wrx and its a bit of a mystery to me.
It was ordered from j-spec, only listed as a jdm wrx motor.
From what Iíve gathered it's an 01 wrx motor from a automatic wagon.
However I don't see any AVCS despite it being a 01, v7 motor.

I have been told its an ej20k, but I have also been told thatís impossible
I saw over on I-Club a thread containing a list with multiple different motors, their ID's and the cars they came from, and this was listed as a "20k Wagon"

Thread location( http://www.i-club.com/forums/convers...m-motor-67610/ )

Engine code: EJ205DX3BE
Turbo: TD04HL
Has Coil packs on each plug.

I've been searching and digging for a while now and haven't found anything yet, and im going INSANE Trying to ID this motor...
Any One know anything?

did j-spec provide you with the originating VIN? If so you could get it decoded.
On scoobynet it also sounds that engine code is conisistant with a 20k 4eat wagon

No originating vin
the i-club list did have the motor tied to a 20k 4eat wagon, however upon searching i cannot find anything regarding this car.
Does anyone know anything about this 20k 4eat Wagon?

There is no designation between a wagon or sedan on the timing belt codes, you would need the VIN plate to ID that but they have the same motors basically. It looks like your on the right track, heres the list ive found that has most of the engine IDs in it for the codes and does indeed have this listed as....

JDM A.1 MY01 7 1-Aug-00 31-Mar-01 Sedan WRX NB (at)
JDM A.1 MY01 7 1-Aug-00 31-Mar-01 Sport Wagon 20K (at)

this file also has some more details as far as specs go, hope it helps.
