Default TWE cams lack power

Ok guy I really. Need your help

I installed TWE stage II cams along with Brian Crower bc0600 spring and retainer kit. On an EJ25
Problems are
1. Idle drops below 1000rpm causing the car to cut off
2. Very LOUD ticking noise coming from engine, I assume its the tappet
3. When driving, rpm shoots to 5-6000 rpm but car lacks power big time

Can anyone help me solve these issues.

I am also going to say tune.

I just put together a 2.5 NA block and phase 1 2.2 heads with the delta 230 hp cams with an original steel borla single port header and a wrx midpipe and canister muffler. The first two days it pulled like mad.... I mean mad.. stock 2.2 ecu then I got stopped... a little too fast... hmm and was told I needed to put on a different muffler so I put on a 04 wrx muffler I had and it brought the power down some and didn't seem to pull as hard.

But, even if doing cams and like a catback, a tune for the newer imprezas really do wonders especially if a good after market header is used as well.

The ecu is made for a stock engine, putting cams in there changes what the ecu is going to see but the ecu is going to try and keep things as close to stock as possible since that is what it was programmed with in the first place. So, a tune will change that and maximize the upgrades.

So it seems that the op started two threads about the same topic... Annoying.
It also seems that a clutch and flywheel were replaced.

OP, were the clutch and flywheel done at the same time as the cams?

In one of the threads you stated that rpms shoot up to 5k but the car doesn't pull very well.

I don't know what the specs of those cams are but anything more than a mild cam should require ignition timing changes to the tune

I would investigate a slipping clutch and confirm or rule that out before trying to trouble shoot the cams/power problem

How loud is loud? Louder then your exhaust?
Stupid question but did some thing break? I've made the mistake of not breaking in a cam well enough before I ripped on it.

Uh, if the rpms are "shooting" to 5000-6000 but you aren't going anywhere, then you have an issue with your clutch. This isn't even a question.
