Hi guys, First time post from me so please bear with me. We have a 2005 Subaru Impreza 2.5L automatic outback sport wagon. It has developed a 'whine' when accelerating between 50-60mph, when I let off the gas the noise goes away. The sound is a real whiny kind of noise. I thought it had something to do with the AWD so I put the fuse in to make it FWD only and the noise was no longer there at any speed while accelerating. I took it to a Subaru dealership and they told me it was just tire vibration noise....I was very hesitant to believe this. They took the fuse out so the car was back in AWD. Once again the noise was back and last night while driving home it started to jerk/almost as if it was braking suddenly for a split second or something under the car in the drivetrain was grabbing. I straight away put the fuse in the FWD setting and instantly the jerking has stopped. The car is booked into another dealership for a second opinion. Can anyone here please give me some insight of what the likely hood of this problem is? Thanks a lot guys!!!
