Default 2011 impreza 2.5i issues

so the car was fine when i first got it, no noise, not much feel of sluggish. now its at about 53k miles, and everytime i get to between 30-40mph i get this clicking noise, sounds metallic. when i go past 40 or so, the sound disappears, also when im accelerating harder the sound does not come out as well. anyone know what that sound is?
second, my car feels very sluggish when accelerating from a complete stop. it is automatic trans, and it would shift to 2nd at around 20, then as soon as it shifts, the speed does not pick up/continue and instead it sort of lags and then picks up speed again. I have not noticed this issue much before, but this has became apparent recently.
lastly, my car makes alot of noises during shiftings, sounds like a quick metallic click, as well as during idling.
id like to know the possible reasons for what i have mentioned and recommended solutions. im not looking to get a new car soon enough so id like to fix these issues taht is annoying me like crazy. thanks for all help.

It's still under drivetrain warranty. Bring it to a dealer. There's not much point in trying to diagnose and/or fix it yourself when you have a warranty to do it for free.

I have the same exact car and have noticed the same issues. These are the things I did and hit helped me. A lot.

1. Change the spark plugs to iridium

2. Run half a can of sea foam through a full tank of gas. This should take care of your sluggish problem.

3. The click noise when shifting gear from park to reverse is caused by the linkage on the transmission. I herd the same noise and took it to my work and put it up on a rack and determined it was that. I work in automotive. If you feel something is really wrong and you don't feel safe then take it to your local dealer.

If you have any questions feel free to pm me

Are you sure the clicking noise isn't coming from the A/C when you turn it on/off? But basically do what everyone else said. Autos FTL...lol

I'm new to the forum, but I have had my 2011 impreza 2.5i premium for 2 years, after only 17k miles, the engine needed replacement due to a faulty oil pump, it ran great........... For only 10k, then/now the same problem happened, it has really put a sour taste in my mouth with subaru, and frankly, I don't think I want to own another after this. I know what a few might say, that it was my fault over revving the car, or driving it too hard. I prefer driving "low and slow" it has never touched red line, no mods (other than coils). All I really want to know is, has anyone else had any of these issues? And if I do go subaru after this, it will be an 09+ wrx, do those have any big issues?

Interesting insight, I've been doubting my commitment to subaru too. I mean I love the cars and the company and aspire to be a specialist but I don't know if I have the patience to own one myself anymore. My 07 impreza 2.5i has been nickel and diming me since I got it, and now that its over 100,000 miles its getting worse. I know most of that isnt because its a subaru and just because of the high mileage but I have been hearing bad things about the new models as well. Not sure if I should keep throwing money into my 07 or go for a brand new car to start from scratch and take care of it the right way

That's interesting cause my 2011 2.5i is going on 29k miles and I haven't had any problems other then what I listed a few post prior. I think you should file the lemon law with the dealer and have them replace it again. They shouldn't charge you cause it should be still under factory warranty.

They aren't charging me it is still under warranty, an extended one at that, but it is a major inconvenience that the engine just won't have problems, and sadly the lemon law here in Colorado is damn near impossible to achieve

Oh Damn sorry bro. What exactly is the problem is the oil pressure droping or not building up? The oil pump jamming up?
