Default Need Help! 2.5 RS Bad Over Fueling & Rough Idle

I have a 2003 Impreza RS 2.5. It was running fine when I pulled it in the garage. Started it the next morning & very rough idle, severe over fueling (fuel spiting out tail pipe), but no mis-firing

I pulled the Idle Air Control Valve & cleaned that. No change. Tested spark, all good. Cussed at it for awhile , but it's still won't run right.

I'm thinking maybe the Purge Control Solenoid Valve, but I'm grasping here.

try pulling the vacuum line off the fuel pressure regulator, and check for gas in the vac line, if the diaphragm in the fpr ruptured, the vacuum line will pull fuel directly into the intake manifold

Thanks Sponge. Unfortunately I have nothing to test the fuel pressure at this time. I did slap a new Fuel Pressure Regulator on it, as the part was relatively cheap, but same thing. My buddy swears it's probably the Purge Control Solenoid Valve. But I'm grasping here.

I'm thinking possibly the "Intake Air Temperature & Pressure Sensor" found one for $70. Will grab it tomorrow....my last "Hail Mary" as far as throwing parts at it. I believe this replaced the MAF sensor. I'm leaning this way because of the thread below

This guy had the EXACT same problem

Bump, I have a similar issues.

I just replaced a hose connected to my idle air control valve. I took it off and cleaned it with brake cleaner (bad idea?) and now my car runs like this guys. My cat was glowing red from unburned fuel. Blackcatak, did you ever get this fixed?

I have a 1997 outback 2.5.
