Default Help w/ Transaxle Output Seals

I purchased a transmission gasket/seal kit for my 2004 Impreza TS 5 speed and I just noticed (before button up the case halves) that the differential oil seals are too large in diameter. They don't contact the output stub axles which measure just shy of 30 mm diameter. I'm guessing the seals that came with the kit are 806735230, 231 (35x50x9) while the ones I need are 8067300041, 042 which are described as 30x50x9. Unless the sealing is done on the axle shaft? Also, Opposedforces shows different part numbers for the front axles for the above Impreza and the 2002 Outback I plan to install this tranny in. Does anyone know if I will have problems fitting the Outback axles to this Impreza tranny?
