Default Need help with designing gauge rings to match stock cluster

So, I recently installed an ATI gauge pod, and my 52mm VDO gauges look a little small in it. I like the VDO gauges because they are affordable, good quality, and the vision series look a lot like the stock gauge cluster.

An idea I've always had, but never attempted, was to design some kind of bezel rings that would go around the gauges to simulate the stock gauge cluster overlay:

My question is, does anyone have any experience modeling 3d objects? I don't have any software experience with CAD and was hoping someone might be able to help me make these simple objects... Then I want to get them 3d printed by some type of service like www.shapeways.com and paint them.

I still need to get all the measurements, but wanted to post my idea before I forgot

I could probably whip something up at work in Solidworks. All I need is dimensions and how tight you want to go with tolerances.
