Default My Introduction lol new to subaru

Hey gang, Im Ryan, 19, and I just got my first wrx about a week ago and thought it would be smart to join a forum with subaru savvy members. My silver 05 wrx is an auto conversion with an sti top mount intercooler, turbo back hks exhaust and spt cold air intake, all put on by the previous owner. the odometer reads 97k but the engine was replaced 30k miles ago (thank you carfax). I am new to subaru but I hope to learn quickly as I am attending automotive school at broward college. Once i get everything serviced, I have plans to upgrade many performance parts provided I have the means. I work part time as a delivery driver so I can make a little extra cash on the side.
my previous and first car was an 04 passat w8, hard to see it go but I couldnt pass up on an 05 wrx in auto with only 30k on the motor and under $10k

I would love to know if there are any car meets around the broward county Florida area and other fellow subaru owners as well
Thanks for listening, Ryan

Welcome!

Check out the South East Region for local Florida stuff goings-ons.

Suggestions: do your research, find out what you want for your scooby/setup, don't settle.

keep the stock air box and don't get suckered into buying any type of intake until
you go to a rotated turbo.

so if you are not planning on going to a rotated turbo leave your stock air box and intake alone.

sorry to say It has been previously molested, no stock unit, there is a cold air intake setup and a down pipe and exhaust as far as I can tell. Only stock thing looks to be the turbo and auto tranny. It was born a wrx but it has an sti key, caps and top mount intercooler. I want to get the most bang for my buck like everybody else but I will maybe have only 600 to spend with my horrid salary. I want this car to be a speed demon with out using 90psi of boost, I wont even go over 20psi because I believe it to be "cheating" but thats just my opinion lol. my goal is to hit maybe 10 or 11 seconds in the 1/4 mile track a little ways north. But I know building a car that fast will be pretty expensive but thats my long term goal

Welcome, I'd start saving up for a 5sp/6sp manual swap as the autos are much weaker and your car already has power mods..

I know, but Ill have to stick with what I have for a few years til the payments are through, and I need to practice stick more too before I purchase a manual car. I wish there were members in my area to help me figure out what I have and what I will be needing.
