Default 2011 sti speaker upgrade

Looking for louder sound and more bass but not over the top bass. I currently have the kicker sub but I'm wanting a little more. Any advice one some better door speakers?

Polk or alpine are good budget speakers

On a budget? Polk dB 6501 F and Polk dB651 rear. Metra wiring adapters, some mounting adapters (www.subaruaudio.net)...$250-ish all told.

It seems like every manufacturer has an inexpensive line. Listen to a bunch of them and see which ones you like the best. It's really the only way to know.

How are the db6501's without an amp? I've had them before and never heard them without an amp. Also, do the db651's fit without a spacer? 2011+

Both require a spacer or adapter.

dB6501 sound fairly similar to the dB651 without an amp but you have more flexibility in the aiming of the tweeter, so you can raise the stage a bit with proper placement.

Trade-off is mounting the tweeter and crossover.

I personally have some Infinity 60.9 cs speakers going in my doors soon but I will be powering them with an amp, I hear pioneer's budget line is currently pretty nice but soundqubed stuff is very nice. Problem with that is you can't HEAR them before you get them anywhere so :/
