I was in a local subaru dealership yesterday picking up parts and overheard a conversation about the 2014s. I would take it as rumor as I can't confirm anything but what I heard was "start taking orders for the 2014 and stop in march. It's a short run in prep for the new model in 2015."

That's been the rumor since the end of may.

Just put an order for a base sedan in satin white pearl and got a price of $26,770 with accessories. Delivery can be "as fast as 4 weeks, and as long as 9, but more than likely between 6-8". The wait begins

Okay not the almighty 2004. That thing was a brick ***** house lol. But the 02's had their issues with their up pipe cats going poof in the turbos, as well as the 08's and their whole host of issues. That's what I'm referring to good sir.

The 2002s were pretty bullet-proof as well. Those up-pipes only went poof if you cranked the boost up on an otherwise stock car. Subaru didn't fix that "bug" until 2005.

Aside from the bad batch of motors (I'm assuming this is what you mean) in the early MY08 cars... there haven't been too many new model issues to support your reasoning.

What that other guy said.

I had both the 2004 and the 2008. Not a problem 1.

My local dealership called me and told me that their order bank is open now. Trying to get more details on pricing.

They should be able to give you all that, alot of us have already put in orders and are waiting on our cars to get here.

You ought to hurry up though its gonna be a short run for 2014 due to the early 2015 rumor.

Just put in an order on a 2014 STI hatch, SWP. I can't wait, it'll be a long 10-12 weeks, but well worth it. I've been driving a 2003 Nissan spec v for 11 years, so this is long overdue!

I've been a lurker on the forum for a while, but figured this is as good a time as any to make it official and make my first post lol.

The Spec V is a fun little car, that was my progression as well. Spec V moving onto an STi.

Any idea when they will stop taking orders for 2014's? I've seen November...I've seen march.

I havent heard anything on that topic, Since they usually stop taking orders aprilish. My guess would be closer to the November side of your guess.

Thanks. I'm just nervous that I'll hate the new car and I never buy the first year of a new model.

That is exactly why I am buying 2014. I really dont like the look of the camo car they've been driving around, and I have ZERO trust in 1st year motor\transmission combos and first year engine tunes after owning an '04 STi. I had all sorts of weird problems with that car, that being said I loved that car... lol

With the 2014s I know exactly what I am getting and since the EJ* motors have been used for so long there is alot of knowledge, support, and parts out there for it making it easier to own even though there are known problems with it.

This is a weird time for people in your spot, buy a 2014 and then have buyer's remorse for not waiting on the 2015s. Or you wait for the 2015 with the chance of wishing you had ordered a 2014. Pray to the car engineering gods, hope that you make the right choice for you. Because only you can prevent your own bad choices.

Good luck.
