Default 13 Sport Limited Sub ? w Stock Stereo

13 Impreza Sport Limited with the nicer (Non Nav) stereo.

I want to keep the stock stereo even though its not nearly as good as an aftermarket. I live and work in a high crime area and thieves generally don't mess with stock stereos.

I installed Polk speakers.

If I wanted to add an aftermarket underseat sub, are there wires somewhere from the factory? Or would I have to use the rear speaker wires?

I will probably amp the front speakers too, would like to keep all 4 speakers and add a sub if possible.

You'll have to tap into the speakers. If you're going to amp the front then I suggest getting a 4 channels amp so you can use 2 channels for the front speakers and bridge the other 2 to power the sub then you won't have to tap into anything.

Take a look at the Sound Ordnance sub sold by Crutchfield. I have one and it rocks. It's easy on the wallet, too.

How does subaru connect the kicker sub box? The stock stereo doesn't have a separate Sub out?

i think the sound ordinance is the way I might go.

I think they tap into the front speakers as well. Unless you have the HU with the sub out which can only be connect to a Subaru OEM sub box. Since you're adding an amp for your front speakers you can just use that same amp to power the sub. just get the 4 channels amp like I said.
