As for how many are competing in the autocross I am not sure but there were only about 25 last year.

As for things to bring a DOT or Snell helmet would be nice so you're not having to borrow a loaner one meaning a used by many other people one and you would also have to dig through them to find one that even fits you, so having your own really makes things simple.

Your car will need to be empty of all loose items and your floor mats will have to be pulled out, you can leave your spare tire in as long as it is mounted down but really who wants that extra weight when every 0.001 second counts. All your stuff can be unloaded once you get there so you don't have to leave it at home but you will have to pull it out before you can pass tech.

It is very important that your battery is PROPERLY tied down, NO bungee cords!!

They will also be checking your throttle cable for proper response and brake pedal for proper feel.

Make sure your tires are properly inflated, not only will this help with your traction and control but prolong the life of your tires as well, autocross is VERY hard on the outside edge of your tires and too low of air pressure will cause them to roll over eating the tire up that much quicker and causing you to lose traction. On my 2005 WRX Sedan when autocrossing I run around 38-40 psi up front and around 36-37 psi in the rear. These just happen to be the pressures that work ok for me just use them for reference. If anything come with your pressures 1 or 2 pounds higher than you plan on running because letting air out is easier than putting it back in but there should be a compressor on site but it's just easier and quicker to be ready and on that note a tire pressure gauge is nice because your pressures will change after a single lap and keeping your pressures maintained will make the handling more predictable and you can better take care of your tire wear.

Off color masking tape in order to make numbers for your car is handy to have as well so you don't have to track down some to borrow, off color of what your car is of course so they can be seen, so no blue masking tape on your world rally blue Subaru, the masking tape numbers can be placed on your door windows as well but then they will have to be kept up of course (back windows are a good spot but I would not suggest your front door windows due to the fact that you will be looking though those :P)

As for time I am not exactly sure but the official word is we will be running WITH the 2nd morning run group, what time that actually means I don't know but I can only assume it is sometime in between 9:30 and 12:30. There will be sometime in there for tech inspection of the vehicle and a course walk would be nice as well. Here is a link to their normal race day schedule.

Also here is a link to their normal event information for that day

I don't know how they really plan to work us in exactly though in tech inspection and course walk that is.

This year they are trying to give the autocrossers a chance to check out the show and make it back in time for the raffle which sucked last year because I had 20 unused raffle tickets because I was at the autocross the whole time.

Most importantly just have fun, autocross is a great and safe way to feel the thrill of racing our cars like we always want to but legally can't. While the 5 speeds will most likely never make it out of 2nd gear and the 6 speeds will be stuck somewhere in between 2nd and 3rd gear we will only ever really be getting up to around 60 mph, it just feels a whole lot faster on a small and tight autocross course and is a ton of fun no matter what.

Bring a friend with a camera because it is always cool to get some shots of yourself racing, there are a lot of funny faces being made while people are racing

I will post more if more random thoughts come to mind.

Hope to see you all there!!

I read on the BSCC facebook page that there will be two separate AutoX courses, one for the Subaru group, and one for the usual BSCC group.

Actually it doesn't look that was confirmed one way or another, someone asked that but it was never directly answered, they do mention that the "They're on the south end having a big car show." I would assume this to mean only that the car show is separate. I am really sure that we will be running the same course since I would assume that is where all their timing equipment will be set up and that we don't have to work the course so they will be using their people to work the course since we are paying a higher than normal entry fee.

Link to their facebook page here!!

When do you see us having time to check out the show? Before or after the autocross?

The event is 9-4

After your car is teched, you are free to roam until you need to be back in your car at 10:45 to get ready for your run group.

After your run group is done at 1, you are free to roam.

I've got a concern that I hope someone can clarify for me... on the bscc.net/index.php/info/introtoautocross page is states "Most street-legal cars, other than SUVs, are allowed".

I've got a 2010 Subaru Forester. Is it considered an SUV? A wagon? Some would argue either. I hope I can still run!

Still nothing yet, even emailed PayPal and didn't help much either. Guess I'm buying tickets at the door as well.

A HUGE REMINDER!! Make sure to have your receipt printed and in hand when arriving at the event, it is very difficult to get in otherwise if you don't have it printed out and ready to go. Not only will this annoy you if you have trouble getting in just because you didn't have it printed but it will slow down the whole process of getting everyone else in and while stand there and try to figure out how to get your receipt.

There should have received an email with the name "info" from the email address "info@bignorthwest.com" with the title "BNW 2013 Ticket" that contains the text

"YOUR NAME,

To print your BNW ticket, please visit:
http://www.bignorthwest.com/bnw_ticket.png?tid=

Be sure to print your ticket as we cannot scan mobile phones! Also, if your ticket is for multiple people PLEASE arrive together!

See you at the big show!

Thanks,
BNW 2013 Staff"

The link in the email you take you to your receipt that has your QR code for scanning and a list of what you have paid for.

OK, so you all have been warned!!
