Default Ball joint to knuckle pinch bolt question.

97 subaru outback legacy
My friend had these two bolts just spinning in place. I pulled them out and ran a tap through there to clear the threads, after which I was going to add nuts to longer bolts. I just realized though that the bolts that came out are 10x1.25 and my 10x1.5 tap ran through real easy. I am assuming these bolts are supposed to be 1.5 pitch but I just wanted to make sure before I order them.
Can anyone confirm?

i've bought grade 8 bolts/nuts from lowes. napa or northern tool has a larger selection. that way you can see the goods and return what you don't need.

There are no Grade 8 Bolts on a Subaru, as those are not Metric.

There are no M10x1.50 bolts on a Subaru, either.

Those pinch bolts are M10x1.25; and it's a terrible design for anywhere that is rust prone.. Your best bet is to run a drill straight through and use a washer>lock washer>nut on the end of the bolt. Had to do that on many Subis so far with great success.

Alright, thanks for the tips guys.
Since that 10x1.5 tap went through there so easily and bit some fresh material I decided to go with 1.5 threaded into the knuckle with a lock nut on the other side.
