Default UTEC first impressions

I got my UTEC this morning.
IMHO
Build quality is even better if possible than the Unichip plug and play board.

Fitted in 15mins and go. I don't have a laptop so as yet can't log.

I'm one of the first because I so computer disabled that if I can work this anyone can.Sort of the dummy beta tester.

I had a couple of maps put on it because I have some different setups to stage 4. One map was pig rich and reminded me of home when riding Kangaroos.

The other Map seems not bad but still a bit rich as egts never got above 1475f. I also got the flashing cel for knock a couple of times, but the knock link only went to the second green so UTEC knock correction looks to be working great.

I also like the 9v battery supply that enables you to take out of the car and work on at your desktop.

I have already setup my hyperterminal on my desk top what ever that is and I believe I will be able to tune this UTEC thingy soon as I can log with someones laptop.

ALL FOR NOW
Old/computer illiterate beta tester.

I have a utec on the way but what you report worries me. None of the supplied maps run real well? That bothers me!! Any one else have something good and independant to report??

I better explain myself. I have other "mods" that are "NOT" part of turboxs staged packages.

I asked/demanded for a really really safe map "pig rich" and a super safe map "pig rich and retarded". Just like me.

I ran stock stage 4 with vf34 and unichip and it worked well.

I didn't tell Nathan that I was using 91 octane. He mapped for 93 octane which is standard setup unless told otherwise. If I put in 93 octane no knock would of occurred.

As I have said I'm the "dummy" beta tester and the UTEC did its job. I can't imagine what would happen if I had gotten an ECU that doesn't correct for knock "boom".

Some other things I noticed with the Utec today.
It started straight up and it was only 36f this morning. I tried the air conditioning later in the day and could not tell any difference in idle from stock.

Once u get it dialed it, you're gonna love it.

I made 303 to the wheels with the UTEC, TurboXS stage 4, and Blitz FMIC and filter.

I am going to start playing around with it a little bit once I get a laptop.
