#1 Prep prep prep!
Take everything out of your trunk. Including the factory carpet and such.

Clean the metal with rubbing alcohol (or something similar) to get any grease or what not off.

If you have the normal dynamat a hair dryer or heat gun will be almost necessary. You don't really need one for Extreme. Or just let everything sit in the sun for a while.

An old tooth brush will be helpful for getting into those small spots and a wallpaper roller helps for bigger flat areas.

I wouldn't be concerned about getting it to look like they picture the installs, rarely does 1 whole piece of dynamat go on very nice or even contacting 100%.

Go to my webpage http://jakezor.doesntexist.com/ and go to WRX, then stereo install. I've got some pictures of my trunk that is very dynamatted.

Umm, your website is all messed up, I get no pics, and when I click on a link it sends me to an ATTB 'URL not found' page, but if I open it in a new browser tab it works fine (except there are no pictures)

Hmm it works for me, I'll check it out. Probably re-upload it.

If you want to forsake the frameset go here: http://home.attbi.com/~jacoberickson/wrx/install.htm

give that a shot and let me know.

when you are working with the dynamat, keep in mind that the material must be soft to properly adhere to the metal. so when you are working, make sure you use a HEAT GUN, not just a hair dryer, the hair dryer doesnt give it enough heat.

you can apply the dynamat to the metal and then run the heat gun over it, softening it and rolling the roller over it. you will notice that when the dynamat is soft, it takes the shape of the metal and once it is cool, it is hard to get off.

you can apply the material in strips or in large sheets. i tend to use the whole sheet and then put strips into the tight spots.

if i were you, only use extreme on the trunk lid because otherwise it will get too heavy. the extreme is the easiest to work with but it is very hard to get off once it is attached. you should also use a roller so that it attaches properly.

trust me ive installed PLENTY of these kits and they arent too hard to do. take your time and dont get upset if you mess up or get it wrong the first time, you can always use the heat gun to soften it up and move it.

Good luck!
