Pics?! I don't think I've seen an uncamo'd one yet and a g-search didn't turn up much (just a lot of this hatch).

I'm waiting for the diesel/MS. Now that the VW GTD is confirmed for next year, will be nice to see Mazda step up..

^ That may have hurt its aerodynamics a bit and probably wouldn't have helped them achieve whatever mpg targets they had.

That pop up HUD screen is so Anime. I'm probably too old to get excited about such a thing, but I think it looks really cool.

I bought my '13 on 6/20. Then a week later they show me this beauty of a car.

Should have waited. -_-
If a MS3 is made again, you bet I'll be thinking real hard about taking a huge hit on depreciation for that car.

Also this, although I have a '12.

I've been awake for a while now You've got me feelin' like a child now 'Cause every time I see your bubbly face I get the tinglees in a silly place
It starts in my toes And I crinkle my nose Wherever it goes I always know That you make me smile Please stay for a while now Just take your time Wherever you go
The rain is fallin' on my window pane But we are hidin' in a safer place Under covers stayin' dry and warm You give me feelings that I adore
They start in my toes Make me crinkle my nose Wherever it goes I always know That you make me smile Please stay for a while now Just take your time Wherever you go
What am I gonna say When you make me feel this way? [ From: http://www.metrolyrics.com/bubbly-ly...e-caillat.html ] I just, mmm
It starts in my toes Makes me crinkle my nose Wherever it goes I always know That you make me smile Please stay for a while now Just take your time Wherever you go
da do doeo do do do do da do da do da do do mmmmmm
Iíve been asleep for a while now You tucked me in just like a child now 'Cause every time you hold me in your arms I'm comfortable enough to feel your warmth
It starts in my soul And I lose all control When you kiss my nose The feelin' shows 'Cause you make me smile Baby just take your time now Holdin' me tight
Wherever, wherever, where ever you go Wherever, wherever, where ever you go

Really digging the interior shot! The interior in my 2011 MS3, while not horrible (except for the look of the seats), was not one of my favorite things about the car. If they could bring a new MS3 model out for this next generation, with better shifting/clutch feel/experience, I would be very interested in giving Mazda my business again.

This car should be a lot lighter than the previous gen too. That could help a MS3 a lot. One of the biggest problems with the current MS3 is that it's too heavy.

Just sat in a new 3. It's really clean and open inside, much less claustrophobic than the Focus. The lines look great in person, and the dark red signature color is quite handsome. It strikes a balance between mature and hip, if that makes sense. The radio is a little odd, sticking out all alone above the dash, but the controls are quite clean and simple. Compared to my 2012 3, it's much calmer and more intuitive inside. I like it.

I'll come back and test drive one once they have a manual in.

Nice, thanks for the update. I have all next week off, I guess I'll swing by the dealership and take a gander.

Default New Mazda3 MPS set for 4WD

Quote:
The next generation Mazda3 MPS looks set to get four-wheel-drive traction and a new turbocharged engine that could give it additional firepower against class leaders such as the Volkswagen Golf GTI and the incoming Subaru WRX.
While Mazda is refusing to go into details about the new performance hero of the Mazda3 small car- or, indeed, if a program has even begun - senior executives admit there is keen interest.
Considering the popularity of performance cars in Australia and a renewed interest in smaller versions it would me more of a surprise if a Mazda3 didn't appear.
"It's difficult to answer," said Mazda3 deputy program manager Takeo Mariuchi when asked when we could expect to see a sporty MPS version of the popular small hatch and sedan.
"We have had many questions regarding the MPS. We need to watch the market requirements."
Mazda Australia managing director Martin Benders said an MPS is definitely of interest.
"It's still on our radar and the factory is still sort of considering it," said Benders.
"The priority is to get all the base cars rolled out and set up and worry about the speciality models going forward."
The turbocharged MPS has always driven the front wheels and has been criticised for steering wheel tug, or torque steer, under acceleration. Sending the power to all four wheels - as was the case in the previous generation Mazda6 MPS - would eliminate this and also provide better traction, for improved performance.
Moriuchi said now that the new 3 shares its underpinnings with the CX-5 SUV it opened the door for a 4WD version.
"From a technical point of view itís not difficult to install a four-wheel-drive system," he told Drive.
Four-cylinder performance models have evolved substantially in the last five years.
As well as speciality pocket rockets such as the limited volume Ford Focus RS there have been higher output models such as the Volkswagen Golf R.
And Mercedes-Benz recently reset the four-cylinder benchmark with its A45 AMG that combines the world's most powerful four-cylinder with a four-wheel-drive system to give it performance that can embarrass more accomplish sports cars.

I realize this is an old post, but just for the record, the Mazda3 and the Prius don't treat air off the back of the car the same. On the Mazda3, most air detaches at the top of the rear window (see the little wing?) while the Prius carries flow to the end of the trunk.

The sloped rear window on the hatchback happened because they wanted to use the same rear doors on both body styles. Cost cutting wins again.

Not a big Mazda fan but they have done well with this car. It's just a solid package of price, looks and performance. I'm interested to see the MS3 version if it ever happens.

As big a Mazda fan boy as I am, the four door sedan should never look better than its five door hatch. I think it's more the long nose than the chopped off rear, however.

I love the exterior, and the sedan version always looks better than the hatch version in every incarnation. Hatches look like minivans/suvs with their giant dumb butts.

The interior looks good, but the one I sat in was all hard plastic and sharp edges. The interior in my Focus has much better materials. Plus the seats were like lawn chairs. It felt way cheaper than it should.
