How bad of an idea is it to bring 400 whp rwd and snow tired car for the event. Ive been told it was the "dumbest" idea ive had.

Sounds like fun to me. There are two other cars already signed up for modified rwd (assuming yours would be in modified), so you won't be the only one.

If it will qualify for prepared, you'd be the only one at this point. There are 3 registered for stock rwd.

Well its completely stock except for race pads and brake ducts both of which wont help me a bit. 245 wide snow tires + grass + 400whp =

I just worry about messing up the front bumper/ bodywork.

edit..... I do fall into the stock class except for 1 issue. My snow tires are mounted on 19x9 rims. My stock rims are 19x9 front and 19x9.5 rear. Would that kick me into prepared or is a skinnier wheel acceptable?

So run prepared with the narrower rear rim and 245/40/19 snow tires or swap them onto the 9.5" rims. Or i could just bring my stock rims 285/35/19 / 255/40/19 summer tires, im not sure I would have any traction.

Gotcha. The field is pretty darn smooth, and we'll adjust the course if it becomes too rutted. You would be up against a 1986 Mercury Merkur (lol), and a 95 dodge dakota. I can't imagine either of them being a whole lot of competition for you. If you decide not to race, you can always come check it out and then decide if you want to enter the next event.

Honestly i bet both of them will hand me my ass. 1st and 2nd gear are going to be worthless, and it easily spun 3rd in the rain with the snow tires. I just want to go have some fun and try something different. I probably should bring my wifes beetle but what fun is 116hp when you could have 444hp.

The event was a big success! The land owner was not excited about how bad we tore up the field, but just in case he doesn't let us come back, I think we may already have another location secured for the next event that will be closer to Atl.

I got first in Modified AWD. Here's a video of a couple of my runs so you can see what you missed out on:

I'm in.

Be on the lookout for another location too. This guy said we messed up the grass more than he expected. I'm affraid he's going to want more money than we can justify or just say no all together next time. Durhamtown should be a solid location with no issues, but it's in the Atlanta region and we want to keep rallyx going for middle ga too.

In a few more years I'll have my own land and I won't give a crap about the grass, but I really want to keep this going until then.

A. I'll drive to Atlanta. No issues there.
B. I want land as well. My wife wants a horse barn and I want a rally X track.
C. I'm trying to find land in the area to practice at but it's hard to do.

Yeah... Most land owners look at me like I'm crazy when I tell them what I want to do.

Video does not exist?

Also didn't the land owner have at least some idea what was going to happen?

Apparently not... and the new site looks better. I like the transition from field to dirt road and back
