This is totally un-related to my car but NAPA has 7 piece Gearwrench flex-head wrenches for $29.99 on sale drastically. Amazon is selling em for $91 and anywhere local is $100+ normally. Get you some! I bought two sets of metric!!!

Also, thanks for the compliments!

I'm actually not going to order flares until I get the wheels/tires. I don't want to just guess what width I need--I want to try and get a nice fitment without being too close to the flare. The only mock up I did was to hold up flares on the car that a friend had for his GD and I realized it could work on a GR as well.

Well I'm def looking forward to it. But the flares didn't seem out of place on a car already considered a widebody?it seems like it would clash, in a bad way.

There are a few time attack cars in the UK that are running some flares and imo, look pretty amazing. The fender flare that I'll be bolting on will follow right under the line of current flare from when I held it up.

Here's some shots from last year's Time Attack UK series:

"JDM Flares" on ebay most likely. EDIT: I sent a msg to that TDRacing company and they didn't respond to me about the fender flares they were using.

Valves were tipped and are back and ready for measurements so we can get the right buckets. The build continues...

Sorry for lack of updates but I've been very busy outside of the build with work and personal stuff.

And yes, the big news for the build is I've orderd my Forgeline GA3R wheels and to say I'm excited is an understatement. When they arrive I'm going to do a test fitment and then try and get some rubber for them.

The wheels will look nearly identical to the ones featured in the official Forgeline video here:

Thank you! I'm hoping to get down to the shop and get the engine finished sometime this week if I can but I am so destroyed from my Spartan Race I did yesterday that I think I'm going to be out of commission until Tues/Wed lol

In a heat advisory ~89-93* I went 4 miles up and down my local skiing mountain + 15 obstacles and in my case, 120 burpees for four messed up obstacles makes for one tired dude but I was victorious none the less and enjoyed my free beer after the race. Supposedly this is considered the hardest Sprint series they offer and it just so happens to be 10 minutes from my house.

The only class that'll take me, street mod... with all the crap I've done I've bumped myself out of street prepared. Also, although I'm going to try and be as competitive as possible, there already is a guy in my region who has an Evo with 335's and cut fenders but with far more driving experience. I'm just in it for the fun of it.

Sorry!!! :P I'm not *that* hairy. There were far hairier man beasts running this event--and I had a shirt on but it was caked in mud, so I took it off to hose myself down and cool off.

If GC and GD guys can do 18x11 on flares what's another inch on a car that's already widebody? This has been my mentality from the start.

It will look great but my honest question is will it function? 18x12 just seems so massive, 18x11 with a low offset seems more functionable in my mind, but then again I dont drive a race car or plan on racing my car like you lol

Just got word the wheels are going to be about 4 weeks and they're in production. Also, I just befriended my neighbor who I've never talked to but lived 3 houses away from for like 26 years... he's into making sick rat rods and what have you. I talked to him a bit and mentioned I need custom flares made and it perked his interest. His main job is auto body but he does custom metal work as well.

I'd really like to have proper flares done and not just bolt ons. I'll have to see how things go timeline-wise.

^This. The tire size alone would dictate something beyond modified. To be honest I do not care what class I am in--I'm doing this car for my own satisfaction and if it puts me in some harder class so be it haha. I just want to have fun and make the car what I want.

"I do what I want!"
