Question Exhaust Questions?!

I am buying a stromung single tip exhaust for my legacy GT sedan. is there anything I could do to modify the cars exhaust for the better for free? while i am doing this stromung install? if so someone tell me! wanna mod my car!! ANy comments are welcome also... i need some help! I am new at the modifications... so if anyone knows of any VERY cheap mods, or free ones i can do myself to improve performance... please let me know!!

I guess you could also get a pipe to replace the 3rd cat.

please explain what a Cat is what it does and why i shoudlr eplace it.. I have no idea what you mean, and am curious.

The cat is the catalytic converter. I wouldn't really recomment mucking with them unless you're planning to replace them with high-flow versions.

The only free mod is the removal of the intake assembly that's in the passenger side fender, affectionately known as the snorkus:

I have the same snorkus instructions on my site, with some more detail and part numbers. http://www.remarcable.net/misc/legacy_outback/

Those photos are by Juice on his forester, and as I found out today there are a few things different between the forester and legacy snorkuses (snorki?). Nothing really major though and those instructions will serve you pretty well.

I did the snorkusectomy today and now I have a very nice growl while giving it gas, and it revs to redline much faster.
